in the offseason i picked us to win 8 and we're probably going to win 7 (8 with bowl)

Good for you. The rest of your ilk talked about being a darkhorse playoff contender.

Common sense errwhere.

I'm not the one in here claiming my fanbase has common sense, am I?

What is the context of being a preseason Top 25 team, finishing 7-5 and being really excited?

Why do you think every Arkansas fan is ecstatic because a few posters like to sail? I'm not ecstatic but you can see we are still headed in the right direction. Four years ago LSU was playing for a NC. Three to Four years ago Arkansas was struggling just to get a win in the SEC. That is the context of this situation.

That the number of jobs open that will pull coaching talent equal to or greater than LSU is far exceeding the number of elite coaches available to fill these positions.

Funny, we told you all that Gus was just a high school coach for years and you're just now starting to see it. Who doesn't understand football?

Very honestly, how did you feel in 2007 when Houston Nutt was forced out?

It was a mixed opinion but I think for the most part people were ready for some change since he had been here for so long. That is why I understand some LSU fans wanting change.

So, 1 coach?

USC is the only open coaching position that is a better job than LSU.

Thank you for your honest answer. It is a very similar situation.

I'm not sure I'd even rank it as better. And if it is better, it isn't by much.

how many elite proven coaches do you see going around in the typical coaching search? Most likely yall end up taking a flyer on an up and coming coach. Which has possibility of being good but more of those bust than not.

LSU is kind of a johnny come lately of football. USC has a much better tradition and recruiting base than LSU. Plus it isn't a hard choice for me where i'd rather live.

ETA: That's for any Hog fan, not just oklahogjr

honestly- i hated our fanbase so much during that time. i was ready for nutt to go but i hated the foia act request, the planes with banners, the emails etc.

to put it into perspective, i wasn't nearly as upset by the petrino fiasco and then the john l smith fiasco as i had been during the end of nutt.

I highly doubt they push out a proven coach for an up and comer. If they really are pushing Miles out they have a big name hire in their sights that they think is a lock.

Your perceived intelligence grows with each post. LSU is 12th in all-time wins.
