Obviously, its a beautifully designed play/check. State created match-up problems/nightmares for the LSU defense all night. Credit due.

However, this breakdown can be attributed to two LSU mentally-challenged players. Junior Safety Jalen Mills decided to play over the top on the short-side of the field instead of playing single-high (or even high-over on the Trips side). Senior Middle Linebacker D.J. Welter (who, after a severe butt-pillaging by Auburn, eventually lost all future starting opportunities to K. Beckwith) blitzes between the 3 and the 5 gap, also abandoning the middle altogether as well.

It's bad that Mills missed the tackle on Count Dakula. But what's worse IMO is that he was put in that position in the first place.

As MightyYat said earlier

That's one of the things that was frustrating with Chavis at times. He left the middle of the field wide the frick open way too much.

Oh, and as Jwodie said

Since 2000, LSU is 14-1 vs. Miss. State.

Just a reminder.
