But that simple, "aggressive" scheme tho...

Dak rushes for 300 yards vs A&M this year

Thank you for reminding me that one the greatest seasons in your team's history ended with you being third place in the division.

Thank you for also reminding me that your team has a sub-.500 all-time win pct.

Enjoy your 7 wins this season.

Look, you can't knock Chavis for his all around scheme. That cat had some fantastic defenses wherever he's been. However, he's not without faults. Teams that committed to the run up the middle often moved LSU around at will. Now, a big part of that was Chavis' affinity for small, fast LBs that could run sideline to sideline. His best defenses were when he had a run stopper at MLB ie: Shep and Minter.

Witty and refreshing.

Yall are going down to Missishitti State again this year. I can't imagine the level of butt hurt then.

Are you trying to say that his defenses were best when he had elite talent? Wow! Who would've guessed it!

Elite talent may be a stretch but his defense went as his MLB went.

Remember when you guys had arguably your best team ever last year and didn't even win the West? That had to be a bummer.

Its not as big of a bummer than not having a QB who is not capable of completing a forward pass. Let alone 2 of them.

Are you down with OPP?

Look that statue you call a qb wont be allowed to stand there for 30 seconds every play this year, you get beaten badly in front of hundreds of your fans.

In 2011 we didn't have a talented LB corps and still had one of the best defenses with or without Mathieu. Chavis's expertise in LB held our defense back.

Thank god for Coach Miles or Beckwith would still be at DE.

Harris was 1 jump ball away from a comeback win.

Hundreds of fans? Like at the beginning of the 4th quarter in Death Valley?

It is amazing what can be done with a talented, experienced player at the QB position. One day, in the distant future (probably when we are all dead) LSU fans will know what that is like

I really don't understand the optimism. You lost damn near your entire defense and your only returning offensive weapons are DP and a running back.

I'm glad you only have one good season every other decade. The delusion in Starkville would be insufferable.

Minter was nowhere near as good as he was in 2012. I also remember Hatcher getting a ton of snaps. I wasn't much of a football fan back then though so I might have a faded memory.

The LB corps was the weakness of that defense. It also happened to be Chavis' positional group.
