Damn I didn't know he was out for 5 minutes. I hope he does make the best decision health wise for his future. I love to seem him on the field, but I'd much rather run into him as a healthy guy in the future instead.

hope he recovers and never plays again, gets a degree and has a great life outside football. Concussions are not to be trifled with imo. 5 minutes is crazy. The next one could very well kill him

I am as big an LSU fan as the next guy, but I think that the consensus of the Tiger Nation is that we never want to see Josh Wiliford play again and we hope for a full recovery.

It isn't worth it. I completely share tmc94's sentiment. It is just a game. It isn't worth seeing this kid with brain damage or getting killed on the field or something. He obviously has a propensity for this kind of thing and he needs to hang it up.

I don't care how well or fast he recovers or how much it hurts LSU this year. I hope he is done. I honestly cannot imagine a scenario where anyone would approve him coming back.

On another note, it is good to see all of the sentiment here in this thread. We go after each other, but this is a very human response from everyone and one that we should all extend to each other in times like this. Proud of everyone here.

Thanks to all the opposing fans for the kind, civilized words. It reassures me that as heated as arguments may get, there are still a bunch of like minded, genuinely good hearted posters on this hostile site.

I'd like to second this statement. Despite the fact that 99% of threads started on the SECr are nothing but troll jobs, it's good to see some sincerity where it's due.

Yeah, it's good to see this place still has a soul.

I'll add that when this happened to C. Tolliver a couple years back the medical staff made the decision for him, so I doubt it's any different with Josh. No doubt a guy who worked that hard to get here would want to suit back up even if it could kill him. Hate it, but it's for the best.

Sorry to hear that. If he were playing for the Aggies he would have been put back in as soon as he could stand.

I'd like to see, if he could handle it emotionally, Josh use his experience over the last 4 years and spend this year as an undergrad assistant. I think he could be a valuable asset in that area and would be a good way to express that the coaches still value him as part of the team, even if his playing career is over.

Exactly, Josh sounds like a young man who won't let this get him down for long and a lot of good will come from this.

I see that post and link got axed. Sorry for being the Debbie Downer in this kum ba ya, group hug, love fest. Either this place is getting a little thin skinned or the "team vote" comments are a touchy subject even if they were posted on another board.
