Miles offered Chavis a three-year contract worth $5.4 million.

“Chief” will make $1.5 million in 2015, $1.55 million in 2016 and $1.6 million in 2017, not including potential bonuses.

No way... LSU let him go because they didn't want to invest that money A&M threw at him because he wasnt worth it.

Why are you guys so obsessed with this?

LSU fans could care less about that guy.

Cool.

Looks like we saved a lot of money for a better defense.

I thought the entire issue was about the guarantee clause in his contract.

The ND game showed a lot about his character

Forrest for the trees:

Y'all are going to have to pay $2 Mil + to keep him if your Defense has a good season. I'm not sure why you are excited about that.

The problem was never money. LSU wouldn't take the Les Miles clause out because they didn't want to double frick themselves if we have to get rid of Miles in the next 2-3 years. It was time for a change for all parties and both schools ended up ok. Chief was also really pissed about Brick Haley.
