re: LSU made "The Bear" retire, it's only fitting that they do the same to Saban

Jealousy is the sincerest form of flattery.

Dye was a better drinker than the Bear, and that is why he retired.
When the Bear's chosen heir, Pat Dye, took the Auburn job and started hording the South's Jim Beam supplies, the Bear knew it was time to go.
Plus Bo Jackson, a freshman who the Bear's assistants told wouldn't have an opportunity to start at Bama until he was a junior, crushed the Bear's soul on November 27, 1982.

Everytime I go to see my buddy there's always still Bama memorobila, coca cola bottles, bags of golden flake chips, and for some reason pennies scattered around/ on Bear's grave. Of course whenever I go down there I make sure to drink something before so I can do the classy thing and piss on the Bears grave.
You're cool

the fact that the bear died months after dying should give an indication of why he retired

I don't know why bear died but Auburn winning the title in 57' was why he was hired in 58' and auburn breaking off 5 wins in a row vs bama in 2006 was the reason saban was hired. Thank Auburn for both

There is truth in that post. Even With all the BS in this thread and that passes between Bama and Auburn as Rivals, I have to admit the truth. I remember telling an aubie friend of mine during the tuberville run, that auburn has 2 other streaks like and both ended up with Bama winning a national championship in a few year. The late 50's which was followed by Bryant's 1st championship in 61. Dye ripping off 4 in a row from 86-89 which was followed by Stallings 92 championshiip. I told him I'm 06 that Alabama would likely have a national championship in the next 4 years. And now the tubby 6 game streak which was followed by Saban.

How is LSU going to do that? Bore him to death?

I don't understand why LSU fans hate Saban. Saban made LSU revelant for several years

Well to be fair...if we wanted to post the average Aggie fan we'd all get banned for posting a picture of a man with a penis in his mouth

Any time y'all feel like, LSU. Just saying.
Any day now would be just fine

Per NY Times LSU did it
There you go.

Bryant had indicated after a Nov. 6 loss to Louisiana State University that he was ready to step aside, saying, ''I'm going to alert the president and anybody who wants to know that we've got to start over.''
There you go.
