LSU made "The Bear" retire, it's only fitting that they do the same to Saban

Watching LSU dominate and run all over Alabama's legendary coach Bear Bryant's players, was simply too much for 'The Bear", so he chose to retire.

But, who can forget the Bear and Bama's 3 to nothing rump where LSU never crossed the 50 yard line, safety would have won the damn thing.

I look for this year's LSU team to really bring it to Bama, who knows, Saban may end up the same way, and retire. Saban's been the best, but so was Bear Bryant.

Auburn claims to have made Bryant retire.

Bryant also lost to Southern Miss that season. Probably USM that did him in.

Dye was a better drinker than the Bear, and that is why he retired.

Human psychology is amazing

Uncertainty causes people to expect the worst in most situations

With head coaching changes, fans tend to expect the best

With LSU HC, QB, OC, or concessions staff changes, they expect natty and subsequent folding of every other program

4-16 versus him at Alabama. I guess you take what you can get.

I just always assumed it was health issues and congestive heart failure that did it. Silly me!!

You forgot to tell the rant how much you don't care about LSU. People don't realize how much you're not obsessed.

Exactly! Reggie Collier. Bryant was 73-2 at Bryant Denny. That was #2.

Yes it was, and that game remains one of my all-time favorite wins of LSU. There was no one greater nor more feared than Bama's Bear Bryant! For a comparison of what LSU did, it would be like making the New England Patriots coach retire after a loss!

Yup. The prospect of going from complete and utter supremacy to mere superiority over LSU chased him out of the game.

LSU lost 16 of the 20 games against him, so I'm sure he was ready after that.
