The emergence of DJ Chark has been absolutely incredible to watch. The fact he was sitting the bench never seeing the field when Miles was here should tell you everything.

Oh did not realize till Saturday he was a Junior. I was like, where has this guy been! LSU is bama ready, I expect a competitive game that can go either way.

What if I told you LSU's defensive efficiency has dropped since Orgeron took over?

And just like clockwork, this obsessed, stalking mother fricker shows up again. Your persistence is admirable, even if your intelligence and arguments that are totally devoid of context are not.

The team is playing with fire. Coach O is the shot of adrenaline that was much needed for this program. A more diverse offense involving all play makers, a dominating defense, and real second half adjustments are welcome changes LSU fans have been waiting for.

We do struggle with pass protection and we are missing Jefferson, I'm a little worried about Battle playing. But it is nice to see us get everyone involved and change things up when something is not working.

I thought he was a sophomore? shite man, I know we kept hearing his name during spring practice about how great he was but we never saw him take the field under Miles.

There have been some big improvements thanks to some pretty modest adjustments in balance, approach, and personnel. However, there are still some issues they have to get worked out over the bye week.

- The team started very slowly on both sides of the ball the last two games. We can't spot Bama a two score lead like Ole Miss.

- Ensminger got cute and over-aggressive at times vs Ole Miss. Those plays resulted in 3 turnovers that killed an easy FG attempt and lead to 10 of OM's points. Huge no-no vs Bama.

- Pass protection is still inconsistent, especially on the outside. This is partially due to shuffling and injuries, but those are part of the game.

- Like Bama, our secondary is very thin right now. There are a couple of true freshmen who may have to play if we have any injuries.

- Special teams are better, but still an adventure at times. The punter has improved, but no one is completely sold on our kicker anymore. Peveto still has our rocket-footed kickoff specialist sky kicking on kickoffs. Even without Jackson, that is a dangerous strategy vs Bama.

However, Saban's defenses have been the graveyard where pro style offenses go to die and LF7 has had two below averages outings against Alabama to date.

That is very true however, for the past two years, we were completely a one-dimensional offense in which Bama didn't have to account for anything else. This year, we have the potential for more than that so loading the box may not work as effectively as it has for the past two years. That said, I think that LSU will have a tough game against a very good Bama defense and will have to be nearly flawless to have a chance. But I do think that our defense has a very good chance to keep us in it if they can continue with what they did against Ole Miss.

It's basically just more balance and less predictability. We can now hurt teams that stack the box because the threat of a pass is real. And it won't be the QB just locking onto his primary target before the snap, either. Etling has been very good about going through his progressions and simply finding the open guy. The way he gets 6-7 guys catching passes in any given game reminds me of another certain former Purdue QB who's currently residing in Louisiana. He's not a world-beater, but he's very smart, and can scramble for a few yards, given the opportunity. Essentially, we've finally been able to utilize all the talent that we have on offense.

Isn't this the same scholar that posted "LSU is still hot garbage" around 10 minutes into the LSU/OM game. Yeah, that's what I thought.

A little of both.

Obviously we are doing a better job hitting open receivers, but we are also spreading defenses out not horizontally just via formations and vertically.

The offense was just so putrid the first 4 games I just can't even imagine how we put it out on the field.

Strength and conditioning coach was on the radio this weekend pretty excited about the guys being noticeably fresher with shorter faster practice pace. Several players have also commented.

Seems like one of those things that are overlooked.

I'm still not quite convinced. How much different are the stats and performances compared to last year at this time?

IIRC, LSU fans were fluffing Harris up because he had a few 200+ yard games passing the ball, and they were putting up eye-popping rushing stats. Has anything really, truly changed?

I am not saying that they haven't, but I am not ready to ring in the verdict quite yet.

We shall see.
