Good catch, my bad on being wrong about Johnson still being at TCU

Auburn beat NIT champ TCU this year btw. Shame we kind of imploded after one of our bigs got injured at the end of conference play or we might have made some nice in the Garden

They'll tell you next that Wade has brought in big time talent. He's brought in one good PG that nobody wanted and the rest is meh at best.

And Trent Johnson won an SEC title in his first season.

thank the lord we are so far from those days. LSU (league champion) was an eventual 8-9 seed that lost to 4 or5th place A&M in B12 by double digits. we now are rightfully expecting 7 teams to get a bid.

It's not going to happen overnight but Wade is a freak when it comes to work ethic. Several kids have left the program as they just couldn't cut it. And now, if he possibly has Reid,Smart and Robinson starting in 2018.....HOLY.shite

And so love how everyone wants to resort to a last place basketball team last year as why we will struggle this year. How many times have we finished last in the conference? It's extremely rare, and this recent team and coach packed it in early. Things will be VERY different this year.

While that's good for the long run, you should lower your expectations for the current season if the roster overhaul is as drastic as LSU fans are saying. The new faces may be upgrades, but new faces are still new and if you're essentially breaking in an entirely new team there will be the type of growing pains that last all season long... but it will be worth it come the next season.

He might turn a bubble team to an elite 8 team but LSU is not a bubble team right now I think we're a bubble NIT team

I am leaning towards that as well.

Which isn't a slap at LSU. JJ burned the program to the ground when he was there despite having some solid talent. I like Wade and I think he is building a very good team down there but this is probably going to be the light at the end of the tunnel season.

Making the NIT this early in a major rebuild would serve notice that LSU is going to be a force to be reckoned with next season. Right now if LSU basketball was a stock I'd say they were a Buy. It might take a year or two but the investment will pay off down the road.

Robinson probably never plays a minute of college basketball.

The question is, how obsessed with LSU is the Op?

I'm an Lsu fan and I don't even follow andthevalleyshook.com

Are you literally so obsessed you read 3rd tier Lsu sites?

LSU was 2-16 in the SEC last season. If Wade triples that win total to get to 6-12 in the SEC and they finish above .500 overall, I'll be happy for year one.

Wade is busting his arse, something Johnson (in recruiting) and Jones (in coaching) didn't do, so I appreciate his efforts to this point. But LSU hasn't played a game yet, and the rebuild is significant. I'll enjoy the new scoreboard at the PMAC, hope this team at least looks like it gives a crap on the court and consider it progress if they do.

I think LSU with Wade is an NIT team, I think with Robinson they could make the tournament. Which is crazy to think that Will Wade has made that much progress.

LSU fans act like Will Wade is the next Mike Krzyzewski. It's so comical. I can't wait to watch their hopes come crashing back to reality this season with a last place finish. The SEC is LOADED with talent. LSU has bottom two talent and an unproven coach that was passed on by several schools.

Now there is no chance in hell we do that again, but that is just to prove a point that from one season to the next weird shite can happen when you change coaches, even if the coach you change to sucks

That is going from mediocre john brady to a smuch shittier trent johnson

If Wade can navigate through this first year as an NIT team he has a legit shot to have immediate long term sustained success if LSU can keep him around, because this years team will easily be his least talented

Is Wade young & realatively inexperienced? Yes. However, Wade is a Huge improvement over JJ.

If you just paid attention a little bit of what Wade did in the off-season, you can see that he has serious talent in building a basketball program.

Is LSU going to set the world on fire this season? Of course not. But, long gone see the lazy arse, no defense, no fundamentals, no cohesion days of JJ. That team and program is gone.

LSU will be an extremely well coached team moving forward. The talent is on the way. Of course, we LSU fans are excited about the future of our basketball program. Wade has shown that he will build a program here that we can be proud of.

If you want to diss that type of enthusiasm, go right ahead. We LSU fans will be enjoying every step of the way in this fun, rebuilding period.
