Nah, we're average. Which is about what you'd expect given how terrible we were last year.

The data show that Chavis is good for improving a defense's ranking by about 50 places, whether it's making an average D great or a shitty D average.

A&M's defense is much improved. They gave Chad Kelly lots of problems. Granted, it was Tunsil's first game back.

Chad Kelly had few problems against LSU.

Again how about that 2013 LSU offense? aTm could only dream of an offense that productive.

Which reaffirms my position that Steele is garbage.

Probably.

Did I disagree with that? There are other DCs that could do what Chavis did at LSU. We just hired a terrible DC instead.

Its like you kids can't read. I said Chavis leaving hurt us, but it only hurt us because Les hired a fricking dolt to replace him.

I'm saying there are only a handful of DCs in the country that wouldn't have gone 1-7 in conference play last year for LSU. The offense was an absolute dumpster fire and Chavis was able to lead the conference's highest ranked defense in spite of the offense putting him in terrible positions. There are 3 wins that are directly attributable to Chavis. Sure, Kevin Steele wouldn't have gotten those, but most DCs wouldn't have either.

You mean the 2013 that had OBJ, Landry, Hill, Blue, Mett, and stupid amounts of NFL talent? Yeah, that was a crazy team.

2013 LSU
PPG - 34.8 (23rd)
YPG - 435.1 (40th)

2013 A&M
PPG - 42.5 (6th)
YPG - 523.8 (5th)

About that dreaming

Oh and just for shits and giggles Chavis's worst D at LSU was still better than LSU's best O. He ranked 22nd in scoring D and 20th in total D. Both higher than Cam's O.

This is a myth that has to be REPEATEDLY dismissed on this board, and thoroughly highlights how delusional swamp kittens are.

The 2013 offense was great by LSU standards but wasn't that great. It wasn't even a top 25 offense. It wasn't even a top 30 offense. LSU's defense was ranked much higher. How y'all ignore numbers and facts to validate your emotions is adorable, but delusional.

A&M's 2013 offense was light years ahead of LSU's 2013 offense. You're dumb.

Given that guys user name, he might be a civil engineer grad from LSU. Numbers will confuse him. This post will go straight over his head.

Chavis is a good coach. Our D was almost always very good with him. We had some 3rd down issues at times, but every coach will have some kind of weakness. I think aTm has a 50/50 chance against LSU. You just never know what you're gonna get week to week out of aTm's offense.

news flash you need talent in order to have a good team. Ok I lost track of the Manziel years should of researched first.

How has the aTm offense progressed since Manziel left? Would you say it declined? (I know LSU's offense has declined) Sure you destroy the rent-a-wins and what not, but the aTm offense hasn't shown up in the big games. My point is Sumlin's Offense isn't all its cracked up to be unless you have a once in a lifetime talent like Manziel.

4 points a game isn't far better. thats the difference of having Vandy on the schedule and McNeese getting rained out.
