i was a big fan of Chavis until he let Clemson beat LSU in the Chick-Fil-A bowl. the formula for shutting down the Chad Morris offense was well known, but Chavis didn't follow it. I concede LSU had better defensive talent than SC, especially at DB, but Chavis let the LSU defense get exposed to a cracker-jack offense.

Having your defense on the field for 100 plays because your offensive playcalling is putrid will do that.

Did you actually watch the game? Clemson scored over half their points in the final 10 minutes.

1 game our players weren't motivated to play. Also our offense failed to ice the game ... again.

We lost to Alabama and Clemson because the offense lacked the killer instinct. We had both of those teams down on the mat and let them back up.

Chavis needs far superior talent to dominate imho. When he was at Tennessee he won with superior talent just like he's doing in Baton Rouge. When Tennessee started to play teams with equal talent, that's when "third and Chavis" started. I don't think he's an X's and O's genius or anything he just does well with better players.

What brilliant logic. Never would have guessed coaches needed superior talent to dominate.

Please tell me more, oh genius of the intwebz.

Bamatard gonna tard.

No question, it appears LSU has assembled the best coaching staff in the country. If not the best, definitely one of the Top3-5.

OC + DC is without a doubt the best tandem - on paper - in the SEC. Both are a great fit in the Miles system as well.

Anyone else notice that any thread about this new hire goes 4, 5, 6, pages plus? The fear is obvious and I'm loving it

Nick Saban in 2000 w/LSU: 8-4
Nick Saban in 2007 w/UAT: 7-6

Looks like Nick's fairly pedestrian without superior talent himself.

Great take, dumbfrick.

The best OC and DC in the country can't make up for their "special" HC.

This ^^ I love how so many SEC fans love to rag a coach that most he has a winning record against... Damn, LSU is a bunch of idiots for holding on to this guy!
