Would that have been enough, or would we have had to play for best 3 of 5?

So LSU may not have been the best team in 2007, but Alabama definitely was in 2011, right?

Both those teams were legit those years and they were overtime games. Was it LSU's fault that teams ranked ahead of them lost towards the end of that season?

I believe Bama and LSU were easily the two best teams in 2011. 2007, to me, just wasn't as clear cut. Real talk. Props to LSU ,though, they won it.

So LSU fans shouldn't argue for LSU's interests?

Why are y'all repeatedly whining regarding the issues here? The SEC Rant does not control SEC scheduling policy.

#1 explain to me how arguing for LSU's interests is "whining"?

#2 This is a discussion forum about SEC Football. Where else would we go to discuss such matters?

Oh, thank god! I've been using the tears of LSU fans to power the water wheel on my Bama-Crystal-Ball-Generator. It had slowed down to mach 4 with a couple of the LSU fans talking about other things today. It's cranking back up now.

Another year, another schedule ranking among the most difficult in the country, and more difficult than our divisional rivals.

Easily. Probably the best cfb team that had come around in several years.

Kentucky = legit? They went 3-5 in conference. Which included a stomping from Crooms MSU team.

Arkansas = legit? They went 4-4 in conference.

Only would an LSU fan try to make-up excuses for losing to two 8-5 teams...

We've got to let this go. I don't like Bama any more than the next guy, but look at each team's ranking when they played each other the past few years:

2008 - Bama was #1 LSU was #16
2009 - Bama was #3 LSU was #15
2010 - Bama was #6 LSU was #10
2011 - Bama was #2 LSU was #1
2012 - Bama was #1 LSU was #5

That matchup averages #2.6 Bama against #9.4 LSU. LSU benefits from Bama having a higher ranking. LSU has only been the higher ranked team once in the past 5 matchups and even then it was #1 vs #2.

Yes, LSU plays a tougher schedule than Bama overall. One thing we all forget when we are knocking Bama's schedule is that they don't get the bump of playing a higher ranked team very often.

2012: 4th

Yeah, that's a lie.

LSU SOS was 15th last year, UA was #19...

Actually they were all lies.

2011: LSU #7, UA #15

2010: UA #14, LSU #15

2009: UA #2, LSU #5

2008: UA #28, LSU #33

So, actually LSU has had a top 5 schedule ONCE, and a softer schedule than Alabama three of the past five years.
