Playing defense is not all about athleticism. You have to have a certain toughness and a different type of instincts than on the offensive side of the ball.

Ever stop to think that maybe Russell Shepard had no clue or desire to play defense?

He isn't exactly the toughest player on the team. He gets cut in half every other time he gets hit.

Used wrong

Dude avgs around 7 YPC when he runs the ball, and has trouble catching. He isn't a WR.

Also notoriously doesn't get much PT following a good game.
