lucky for him, drops and TFL aren't listed.

He's got bad hands, and when he's in the backfield it's so obvious they're trying to force the ball to him.

He reminds me a little of Reggie Bush with the Saints, a highly effective decoy.

I thought moving him to WR was the worst possible move the coaches could have made. He took some snaps at QB his freshman year and, despite the opposing defense knowing what was coming, averaged a solid 4 ypc. He is a great runner, but that is about it.

The coaches really didn't use him much in this offense, and the very few times we did, the plays were telegraphed. For example, RS lined up at WR in a 4 WR set in shotgun formation. RS goes into motion, and then lines up next to the QB as a second RB. Gee....I wonder who is going to get the ball... and dammit everytime they did this, RS got the ball and was stuffed.

He's broken off a few nice runs here and there. But I think the offensive coaching staff should have had more than 1 or 2 plays for him.

It's hard to expect him to be a successful WR when he played QB his whole career before here

When he has been in this same system for 4 yrs practicing WR then YES I absolutely expect him to be successful. It's not that hard to learn how to catch a football and run the same routes over and over given the amount of time he has had.

from what I've seen (every LSU game hes played in), his rushes usually go like this.
If given the ball 3 times:
1 carry for -2 yards
1 carry for 4 yards
1 carry for 18 yards

yep and the ball seems to bounce off his hands when he goes to make a catch.

to be honest he should have gone to Oregon he would have been very similar to Darron Thomas

I think they should have worked with him a little more at QB early on or maybe even moved him to corner.

It was clear when he came in JJ/JL were not working out.

Way too late now for any of that of course.

Spencer Ware has thrown infinity more passes than Shep... Shep must really, really suck at throwing.

If I was a fan, the lack of 1 single pass would drive me nuts.

Maybe Les will pull out the Shep pass vs. Bama this year

Too much talent... Couldn't find the right position to pigeon hole him in to.

This and he is the wrong type of talent for the Offense we run. We don't use small, speed backs. We use big, bruising backs that can pound it up the middle.

He is to inconsistent at catching to be the Percy Harvin player he has the potential to be.

He allegedly sucks too badly at throwing to be a QB.

Only so many positions a guy of his build can play and we have guys at several of those positions that are more natural at the position and just as athletic.

Perhaps we should've tried him out at CB. Or maybe the Holliday-style DE.

Should have tried him at DB from day 1.

From the High School highlights, he was an exceptionally better passer than Ware.

Maybe he couldn't read a defense, maybe Crowton was a complete fricktard and didn't even want to experiment with him...maybe both.

He doesn't play for a coach and staff that can develop offensive talent at all. Kid ended his career when he signed with Les and LSU.

In hindsight he should have packed on about 30 pounds of muscle and become a running back. He has great speed and maneuverability, but has trouble getting the chance to show it(i.e. catching the ball with open space)

Hasn't he also struggle with learning the plays? I remember his first 2 years he would line up wrong or run the wrong play.

Julio, Ingram, TRich are all players signed, developed, and then drafted in the 1st round.

Why are you dragging Saban into this.

I am almost positive that he threw a couple of passes late in a blowout game. It was bad. I knew right then he didn't have it at qb. Plus someone in this thread said they saw him in practice and he was bad then too
