I think we used to do this one day in the week leading up to the ga tech game back when we played them a lot and again in the early 2000's, but not for the game.

When I was in school around 2000, they tried to get the students to wear pajamas to one game a year. Apparently freshmen were forced to wear pajamas back in the day and they tried to revive the "tradition." Not sure if they are still trying though.

I am one of the few who like us to wear the purple jerseys at home so since we switched back to white I wear Purple to games. So the gold and white out games drive me nuts. I never remember to wear the non purple shirt so I have to keep a gold and white shirt in the truck to make sure I have them available.
