I don't understand how a league with so much money can't attract any good refs.
It's a very hard job. Refs are going to miss some. Both plays were wrong, but very close.

Dude, 2Xs Aggies had bases loaded and couldn't do it. They had their opportunities! And if you know anything about baseball, that's why you play the game!! Fortunately, umpires make calls in REAL time not slow mo!

I understand that point however consistently we have refs and umps that interject themselves in the game. TV Teddy, Ritter, etc etc.

I didn't think the play at third was that close in real time. I knew he was out. Someone who is trained and getting paid to do this, shouldn't miss that call.

I guarantee the Aggies will get a couple of calls in the next two games too. Umps are human.

No hurt feeling here, we had our chances. But thanks for the thoughts

Yeah, we're frustrated but in the eloquent words of a welll-known crack user: that's just the way baseball go.
We had opportunities to put the game away. To blame the umps is to ignore the team's failures. Had the team played a flawlwss game, I would be on the ump-lynching bandwagon. But, how can we give more weight to ump mistakes than team/player mistakes?
I am a butthurt motherfricker right now, but bitching about the officials is not a substitute for laying of the Aggy gay sex and a tube of preparation-H.
And, as always, frickLSU®!

I also don't get why people say he should have swung. Let's pretend it was a 50/50 call. (And, let's be honest, it wasn't that close). A 50% chance of getting to first and bringing the go-ahead run to the plate means you don't swing.
Wrong. In a 3-2 count with the bases loaded you swing at any ball that is even close to 50/50. Hell, you should really swing at anything 60/40. It is called protecting the plate.
He didn't have the chest to win the game swinging the bat and the ump punished him for trying to win the game like a beta.

btw...the only questionable call IMO was the stolen 3rd base. it was close but i thought he was out.
Agreed, though to be fair to the umpire, "tie goes to the runner," made that an extremely tough call. Certainly not one the SEC office would reprimand anyone for. Hell, the home-plate umpire's strike zone was expanded early in the game, resulting in a couple of early outs for LSU. aTm only managed two earned runs while LSU had three. Tigers earned the victory.

Would you PLEASE quit. Bad calls are in every game. If A@M would of won on a bad call, believe me they would of been hyped as the greatest college baseball team ever here on the rant. Then on top of it, if LSU fans would complain about the bad call we are already known as whiners so it's high time for some calls!!!!

I think A&M and LSU played about an even game. Had the umpire called the game correctly it probably would have gone in to extras. Playing a flawless game isn't the only time you should want the umpire to meet that standard.
And I don't think it was crack, it was cocaine.
