You obviously don't know what went on. Chavis wanted a guarantee above and beyond what the other assistant coaches were getting. LSU felt that was a road they were not prepared to go down. This whole thing went on for a year. We could have resigned him anytime during that year but made the decision that Chavis wasn't worth giving that guarantee to.

Oh my....wow. I knew their QB play was bad, but that is even worse on a national scale.

What's beautiful is that isn't necessary with our offense. Just need a respectable defense.
You raise a good point. The offense that scored 0 points against Alabama just needed a defense to play behind it and that L would have been a W.

Contract issues + offensive woes
What's funny, is all signs point towards LSU's offense being significantly better next year. And Chavis will retire after this contract. Yall took a short term option to fix a long term problem IMO. Phenomenal coach, but on his last stint.
O will end up being LSU's next DC.

This is what happens when you have a coach holding back a guy like Danielle Hunter who should have 10+ sacks and he ends up with 1.5 sacks.

We actually pride ourself on defense unlike a&am who hangs it's hat on offense but can't stop anyone.

He wanted security, A&M offered him 5 years of security.

So the school, who doesn't cut coaches checks, couldn't afford Chavis? Did he want to be an Econ professor or something?
Do you understand any of this?

You are so far behind in this

Some people are too stupid to argue with. You'd do well to let that joker be. He is definitely aggy. Reads their talking points real well. Just doesn't understand them.

after an 8-5 season where the defense blew it on multiple occasions and a 2013 in which his defense was a major liability (when we had a record setting offense), neither he nor any of the coaches deserve that kind of extra security and that includes the head coach.

I don't really know or care how they pay coaches in Texas, but here, in this state, the AD and various athletic funds pay coaches, not the university.
The AD then turns around and donates millions to the university annually. Why? Because LSU has one of the richest fricking athletic departments in the country.
Go back to the children's table.

Gee, I wonder why? He was in charge of said defense among all 4 years, no?

No one has denied this except a few of your own fans who seem to think one of the most valuable college football teams in America can't afford to pay it's coaches.
Sarge, you need to prep these guys on your board before they come over here with their harebrained posts.

For awhile they were doing a good job hiveminding every thread, but now that they are in the weeds, aggy doesn't really know what to say. Maybe they should re-double their efforts on the RA war plan.

Chavis a very good coach but the fact is he wasn't worth what he wanted. The fact is the defense was declining and the talent level just wasn't quite what it used to be because he couldnt help recruit for shite. Even with guys like Danielle Hunter at his disposal though he could only help him get 4.5 sacks over 2 years starting. That's pathetic and Hunter could easily surpass that his first year in Minnesota.

Chavis reminds me of what Mike Shanahan said to Albert Haynesworth, "If you get more than one sack this year, I'm going to be pissed."

Y'all just need to jump off of these hooks
Drac used to be harder to rustle and you'd never catch him getting reeled in....he's slacking
