No amount of complaints by Bama could come close to equalling the LSU bitching about the SEC office in B'ham - the officials - scheduling bias - permanent cross division rivalries, etc.

No. That school in Austin trying to make a Pac 16 without Nebraska is what started it all. What option did they have? Just wait for the Big 12 to crumble? Gamble that tu wouldn't play ball without the LHN even though they'd been secretly negotiating the entire thing behind everyone's back?

permanent cross division rivalries,

It is pretty stupid how the SEC is held hostage to the silly Tennessee-Alabama game that hasn't meant hardly anything in 40 yrs.

A division with Texas, LSU, Arkansas, Baylor, TCU, and Texas Tech isn't exciting at all. Only Texas and Arkansas would be fun annual matchups. The rest are meh. Not like the current SEC West.

Plus, Baylor and TCU would probably destroy us for the next few years.

joining the conference does not make Nebraska a part of that history
right, it only makes them a member of an infinitely better conference. thats all

This is what LSU folks get for fricking whining, bitching and moaning so much all these years

What, and invitation to join another, albeit lesser, conference?

I'm missing your point.

That's honestly kinda sad. I almost feel bad for our former Big 12 bros. Almost.

I'll tell you this, whenever I see someone talking about SEC expansion to include OU and OSU, invariably divisions or 'pods' show up looking something like this:

LSU
Arky
A&M
OSU
OU
Mizzou
Miss
State

...or some combination thereof, I think the SEC scared and wants LSU out of the conference.

Any LSU fan that wants to do this just needs to give up and focus on the ice gators

This might be a decent idea if the SEC and the Big12 were on an even playing field. LSU would have to get a cut of the Longhorn Network to even come close to matching the money from the SECN.

I have another crazy idea which will likely never happen.

LSU should lead the way in forming the GCC, Gulf Coast Conference. It would be made up of teams from schools in states that border the gulf. Texas, TCU, Texas A&M, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi St, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida St, Miami, and throw in another Louisiana school to round out the numbers and give every state at least 2 schools.

Maybe throw in a couple of cupcake schools that are good at one non-football sport and not much else. Vandy/Kentucky caliber.

How 'bout it? GCC all the way.

nobody has had that decision to make. your hypothetical has nothing to do with Nebraska's choice to leave a crème puff division of what was, at the time, a power conference with an undamaged national reputation.

the big 12 north was by far the easiest division of the 4 toughest conferences. As much as the Big10 represents a greater history of college athletics and academic excellence, joining the conference does not make Nebraska a part of that history. It was a stupid decision.

You are fricking retarded my man. The Big 12 is a flaming pile of shite that any member would leave if presented the opportunity. If the Pac 12 or SEC offered Baylor they'd leave before the phone was hung up. Unfortunately for you...

Texas destroyed the leagues viability with the LHN.

Meh only two teams in that conference have any prestige and we don't need to join the conference to get either on our schedule. I believe they both already are.
