The Nubs should have come down to the SEC East. It's easier than the old b12 north.

Having a K-State fan blog this is just fricking sad. They are so screwed and know it. Along with Iowa State, kansas, Okie Lite & West Virginia.

LSU and arky maybe a little dumb, but not stupid. They can smell texass from their location.

nobody has had that decision to make. your hypothetical has nothing to do with Nebraska's choice to leave a crème puff division of what was, at the time, a power conference with an undamaged national reputation.

the big 12 north was by far the easiest division of the 4 toughest conferences. As much as the Big10 represents a greater history of college athletics and academic excellence, joining the conference does not make Nebraska a part of that history. It was a stupid decision.

A stupid decision? You think Nebraska would have been better off in the Big 12? So dumb.

If Nebraska hadn't left, would the Big 12 still be in tact? Their move started it all.

Not true, Nebraska caught very early wind that Texass was sniffing PAC 10 jock and there was a buzz around texass leaving with A&M.

Nebraska got out when they had a chance, Colorado did the same afterwards.

Had Texas left to the Pac 10, it might have been better for the conference in the long haul. If A&M, Nebraska, Missouri, and Colorado stayed---and Texas left--I think the Big 12 would have had a better chance at landing an Arkansas or LSU. But with the teams left there now, there's no chance at all.

But that's the thing, just like when we caught them a year later, they were plotting to blow up the big 12 by offering several teams to the PAC 10 as a block.

Texass couldn't be trusted and they were a bad partner, you cannot blame anything bad that has happened to the big 12 on Nebraska. They simply acted in self defense and toward self preservation, as did Colorado, A&M, and Missouri.

LSU leaving would be great b/c then the SEC immediately picks up Tulane.

I don't blame the schools that left. And if the Big 12 implodes, I think it's pretty clear that Oklahoma will land in the same conference as Texas.

This is how I see it. The big 12 is a frat house. Nebraska saw Texas playing with gasoline and moved out. Colorado A&M and Mizzou ran screaming out of a burning building.

Mizzou A&M and Colo acted out of necessity, Nebraska out of self interest.

Then why do you not understand why it was a good move for them to peace out?

also, at acting like their current situation is way tougher than the old Big 12 North.

if you see an idiot playing with gasoline in the house you live in, is your instinct to move out or to take away the gasoline and punch the idiot in the face?

and Nebraska didn't know the big 10 was gonna go to the divisions it has now. they couldn't have banked on that.

And I've got about as much chance of having Katy Perry pay me $1,000,000 to perform arse to mouth on her.

(I case Katy's reading this, I'd do it for free BTW... Call me)

again, you are nuts if you think their current division is much more difficult than the old Big 12 North.

and BTW this thing? (that isnt any tougher than the old Big 12 North BTW)

quote:

Nebraska
Northwestern
Iowa
Michigan
Michigan St
Minnesota

thats NOT the Big 10 West.

this is

quote:

Purdue
Illinois
Iowa
Minnesota
Nebraska
Northwestern
Wisconsin

Their main competition will likely be Wisconsin and Iowa. That's not harder than KSU, Mizzou, and a CU that will soon return to form.

A division with Texas, LSU, Arkansas, Baylor, TCU, and Texas Tech isn't exciting at all. Only Texas and Arkansas would be fun annual matchups. The rest are meh. Not like the current SEC West.

Tale o' the Tape:

Road Trips:
Austin v Tuskaloosa - Slight edge to Austin for the music
Waco v Oxford - Winner: Oxford. Grove and sun dresses beats baptists
Fort Worth v Starkville - Both smell like cow patties. More night life in Ft. Worth, I guess. Winner - FW
Lubbock v Auburn - The loveliest city on the plains or the plainest city on the plainest plain? Winner - Auburn
Norman v Knoxville - Even with the ugly orange rednecks, Knoxville is a good road trip. Winner - Knoxville
Stillwater v Athens - Really? Not even Eskimo Joe's can tilt this Stillwater's way. Winner - Athens
Ames v Gainesville - Can't think of one reason to go to either. Push
Manhattan v Fayetteville - Aggieville v Dickson St. Southern charm v midwest sensibilities. Our chicks are hotter. Winner - Fayetteville
Lawrence v Baton Rouge - Lawrence is actually a great college town. Bonus points for the lack of traffic or trouble getting in local restaurants on game day. Points deducted for same lack of interest in football. Winner - Baton Rouge because everyone should experience a game at Tiger Stadium at least once.

So there you have it by a score of 6-2, with 1 push, the SEC takes it. The numbers never lie. A purely scientific, data driven study make it obvious the SEC is head and shoulders above the big twelve, and it's not even close.

You don't have to strain yourself much to find evidence that LSU suffers a great deal of displeasure with the way things are run in the SEC. Follow enough LSU fans on Twitter and you're going to see them complaining about the conference. Pay attention to the news and you'll see their administration barking about how the SEC did them dirty again. There's a vast conspiracy against Mike the Tiger, starting with the SEC offices being right outside Nick Saban's office door, and Louisiana will be more than happy to educate you if you'll just listen.
This is what LSU folks get for fricking whining, bitching and moaning so much all these years.
