I saw Rivers play in HS several times. I have no idea how he managed to get an offer from LSU.

Thomas of Oregon

Hes got quite a bit bigger arm than Thomas. I hope hes ready to run the option because I don't know how our offense would work without it.

I believe the same thing was said about his brother before he went on to have top 10 all time passing yards in NCAA history. I think he only threw about 200 passes a year in HS. Just saying - here's betting Rivers is your starter in 2 years and you won't complain. Might help to have some brains back there - JJ.

All I heard was he was impressing the staff because he knows the play book so well at this point LSU needs to find a way to culture and develop qbs because we are not getting any Kiels etc

grab on some tits before going out to play*, my kinda QB.

* note the purple jersey, signifying we're playing an OOC cupcake at home, or Moo State on a Thursday.

I don't really see Stephen getting any PT unless Mett turns out to be a huge bust. When he first started playing his dad thought he had more potential that Philip did but said he didn't know if it would come out. He is a competitor but nowhere near the level his brother is in that aspect. Good kid and I hope he turns out better than big bro. If he ever starts playing for LSU they will become my #2 team.

why is everyone counting out Randall?

I think he has a much greater chance than Rivers does of playing at LSU.

IMO Randall would be better only 6'2 189lbs but seen both of them on tape and Randall throws the long ball just as good as Rivers also Randall can scramble as good as any scrambling QB you will see. I think Z.Mett. will have his hands full either way.How could you not play Randall as good of a dual threat that he is!

Randall, the other freshman QB will likely be a solid 2nd teamer coming out of spring. Looks a lot like Thomas of Oregon on film.
JJ looked like Vick in spring practice. If we enter the Mett/Randall daul QB era I will kill my entire block then myself.

I thought I saw somewhere that Stephen Rivers, younger bro to Phillip Rivers, was pushing Mett for the job next year.

Would love to know where you supposedly saw this.

I can't get on youtube at work, but go watch Jerrard Randall highlights from highschool.

He probably has the best arm on our team, including Mett. He is also extremely fast, athletic, and has pocket presence. Basically he is what Miles wanted JJ to be that he never could be.

I think he is going to be a star if he stays the course at LSU.

ha no he is not.

Thank the fricking lord.

He is a Miami boy I believe and he was committed to Oregon until after NSD. His YouTube videos are some of the best QB highlights in HS I've ever seen and it's against top flight Florida competition. Check it out.
