Lost in last night: Was that the most blatant attempt to steal a game?

The officiating sucked. State's 6-7 center had two ticks tack could in the first couple of minutes that caused her to sit. Didn't matter. State jumped out to a 16 point lead and punched UConn in the mouth.

UConn is a great team, so you knew they'd get back in it. It took three runs, but the game got close and went into overtime with a couple of questionable calls at the end against MSU.

But in OT, with 20 seconds left and MSU up 2 points. UConn called timeout and the officials reviewed a play from 30 seconds before, where no foul was called and went back and called a Flagrant 1 as the ESPN announcers cheered them on. UConn hit both free throws to tie it and got the ball.

It was a attempt to steal a game. It backfired, but it was still an attempt to steal the game.

No. just shitty officiating. Right call but it should have been made 20 seconds earlier. You nearly got screwed out of the final possession.

Was it? A foul wasn't called. 30 seconds went off the clock and they went back and called a foul. Ive never seen that done before. Ive seen a foul called and a review to see if it was a flagrant - but never a review to see if it was a foul.

They did what they are supposed to do. You can't hit people in the head with elbows anymore. That the officials missed it in real time is the problem. And that is what nearly cost you the final possession.

I'm not sure what the rules are about reviewing plays, but it was a foul. Just glad MSU pulled it out.

UCONN player annihilated a state college player with an illegal pick while lowering her shoulder and hitting the msu defender in the jaw first half...twice. no call. no review.

Imagine late 4th quarter of a football game allowing 30 seconds to run off then reviewing the previous play and determining that there was a personal foul which moved the offense into FG range.

The refs would not make it out alive.

Are you trying to say that setting a hard screen is the same thing? That's dumb.

Yeah I don't care for the way it happened but the rules currently allow for it to happen that way. That being the case they got the review right.

So why dont they review the entire game tape and hand out free-throws?

I don't know. You'll have to take that one to the basketball rules committee. If the rule says they can look at tape for intentional fouls then they are not wrong to do it. No matter how dumb the rule is.

what I am saying is that a flagrant foul is a flagrant foul. two obvious ones doesn't get called, another gets called after a timeout 30 seconds later, with the game hanging in the balance.

Yeah. As long as they were reviewing why not take a look at that flagrant foul on UConn in the 1st period

Get the sand out of your vagina. Everyone not named Doris Burke, ESPN, UConn and their fans AND you called that unintentional. Even the refs weren't going to call it till Geno started screaming about it while Burke and her two bitches cheered Geno on. Go check her twitter feed. She is getting crucified by everyone in the country over that call.

That's why I can't stand any basketball. The refs can manipulate that game more than any other. It's as easily done in the first few minutes as the last few minutes.

I've legitimately never seen such a blatant misuse of applying a flagrant foul in a key situation in my life. What would've happened if State scored on that possession after the fact? Does the flagrant erase it?

It's called incidental contact or a tech in the NBA. Hell, men's college basketball too.

How UCONN'S best player didn't pick up that last foul while being aggressive on the ball and MSUs best player got fouled out trying to tie up the ball is insane
