LSU
Alabama
Ole Miss
Georgia
There's 4 in no particular order because I didn't want to only do 3.

3. Ole Miss
I would have included LSU in the list, but Steele is a huge downgrade.

LSU returns 7/11 from the #2 scoring D and #1 total D yet doesn't crack your list. Seems right

West Coast Ag needs someone to walk him through the question and explain. When ranking a "top scoring defense", it means a defense that gives up the least amount of points. I am not sure why the other posters did not understand you were confused and list the defense you thought would give up the most.

Really tough to leave Arkansas off this list but I think they lost too much on the Dline to finish in the top 3.. Thoughts ?
I concur

Never post again. Your credibility is done, it's over.

UT plays probably the toughest schedule in the SEC with a young DL, no LB depth and mediocre defensive backfield. You scare no one on defense.
TAMU doesn't have the talent to be as good as LSU was along with their offensive tendencies they will give up a lot of points.
LSU will struggle with a young D and if the offense struggles it will be worse. Although very talented will make mistakes and Kevin Steele is still Kevin Steele.
Laugh all you want Vol but UT will have a 6-6 record this year. Dobbs is the no eyebrow version of Jeff Driskel. He can run, but his passing and decision making is a lolfest.

I disagree...love Flowers and Philon but they were far from elite talent. Robb Smith has had an all conference selection at WILL the last 3 years.
We deep on the DL

Young D? Did you even look at the probable starters for LSU before you posted this?

I feel good about AUs combination of talent, experience, and coaching on D this year. Strongly believe AU will be in the upper half of the SEC in defense this year and I think top 5 is more likely than not.

Kevin Steele is an unknown with a pretty mediocre track record.
Fortunately for him, he knows a little bit about linebackers and has Coacho and Raymond to lean on.
