I love Fournette, but I just don't see him doing it.

Herschel is a legend.

Besides, if LF has that many yards, I will be worried about LSU's passing game. I don't want to see LF HAVE to carry the LSU offense. I hope they help him lighten his load so he can stay fresh throughout the season.

2200 ?

No way

Miles doesn't run his backs into the ground the way Bama does.

Well yea, at this point in Herschel's career he had like 150 more carries.

LF7 would have to have like 400 carries next year when I doubt he even gets 300.

I think he gets close to 1500. No chance he gets over 2k.

He will be closer to 2K than 1500

north of 1700 for sure.

Herschel has crazy numbers, but he got a frick ton of carries.

To catch Hershel in total attempts he would need 507 carries next season.

Wow, that puts somethings in perspective.

I agree. More balance, better results. I just want LSU to win a national title, period. Fournette is a great person and a great athlete, but he is not bigger than the team, and he knows that. One of the reasons I feel good about this year.

Why is it so unlikely? He was 47 yards short of 2,000 last year in 2015. It wouldn't have been a stretch to get another 247 in the McNeese game to reach 2,200. If he is healthy, and LSU somehow gets past Bama to reach the SECCG, I think he will break Walker's record.

If last off season, someone had posted LF7 was going to rush for 1,953 and 22 TDs in 2015, the down votes would have rained down. But he did.

You got enough McNeese St.'s on the schedule to have a chance?

OOC games:

Wisky: Aranda is with us, he knows most of their defensive personnel. I think LF goes 175+ on them.
J.State: They are a very good team, well coached. But they lost a ton from last year's D. 150-160.
S. Miss:160-200
S. Ala: 200+

SEC games: only bad game last year was Bama. If LSU manages to get to the SECCG as I said in previous post, it probably means LF7 had a much better game than last year. So yeah a chance, decent one I think.

Best back in history? Do u seriously believe this? No he won't.

Herschel got his numbers when bowls didn't count. Also Herschel was a huge impact player from day one. He literally carried georgia to the best 3 year stretch in that programs history. Other than walker UGA had ZERO offensively and they still went 11-0, 10-1 and 11-0 with 11 guys keying on just him. He was incredible. Sanders and bo can be in that conversation with Herschel and fournette is good but a historically dominant back? C'mon man, be just a little bit objective

He's not anywhere around walker.

Through his career so far he is averaging about 50 yards per game against Arkansas and probably less than that against Alabama.

Does he get to 2,200? Not a chance. 1,700? Maybe. North of 1,700? Not likely.

ok...

you do know we only play Alabama once though, and even with 31 yards against Bama and a rained out game he had 1953 yards.

2200 is a frick I jsut don't think he gets close to 400 carries. but 1700? He ran through that in 12 games.

You know that game got rained out, so there were no stats recorded.

Would take about 38 games against Top 50 defenses.

He hasn't even been the best RB in the SEC the last 2 years. He has never led the conference in yards. Nothing he does this year can put him above Herschel.

Is this serious?

In 3 years, Herschel Walker led the SEC in rushing 3 times.

In 3 years, Darren McFadden led the SEC in rushing 2 times.

In 4 years, Bo Jackson led the SEC in rushing 2 times.

In 2 years, Leonard Fournette has led the SEC in rushing zero times.

It is not a foregone conclusion that he leads the SEC in rushing this year either. He would likely finish 2nd to a healthy Chubb. If Chubb had not been injured last season, there's a real possibility we'd be talking about whether or not he was better than Herschel.
