The last time Ole Miss won in Tuscaloosa was 1988.

Ole Miss have never beaten Bama in back-to-back years.

Before last year the last time Ole Miss beat Bama was in 2003. Bama then won the next 10 making a revenge game a revenge decade.

All that said I like OM's chances. Hotty Toddy.

I mean all of that stuff is cool stats that really don't matter. If nothing else we are due. Tubs won the iron bowl like 6 straight times. Did that mean Alabama was never going to win the iron bowl again? It just is a flawed argument. It has no affect on how teams block, tackle or cover.

Serious question, has OM beaten Bama twice in a row in CFB history?

Collins and Perry graduated, so I guess your pass coverage actually could improve.

Both were basically undersized linebackers playing safety. Great in the box, mediocre agains the pass. We now have two former corners playing safety which gives us a lot more speed and range on the back end...down side is they aren't as good in the box against the run. With our front 7, we are hedging our bets that that is a trade off we can live with.

I think it will be a good game. Both defenses should be really good. I like to watch a good defensive battle every now an then.

How is the Ole Miss punting game? Alabama definitely has some awesome talent there.

Vegas has Alabama as nearly a 10-point favorite, so.

It would be higher if Bama's Qb situation was not an unknown. Ole Miss has some very good players but they are not close to the overall quality and quantity of talent that is on the Bama roster.

The games is in Tuscaloosa, Bama will be motivated to avenge the lone regular season loss from last year. Bama has superior coaching and talent. Only way Ole Miss keeps it within 10 is if Bama has multiple turnovers. Look back at Bama's losses since 08 (7 regular season losses in 7 years) and you will see that turnover margin is negative for Bama in those games.

It will be a relatively low scoring game and close for the 1st half(13-6) Then Bama dominates the 2nd half in route to a comfortable double digit win. 30-16

Superior depth, for sure. You can't just say "Bama is more talented" when talking about the 1st string. OM has better receivers & tight end (OJ Howard's a freak, I know, but he hasn't produced). Your linebackers are monster run stuffers but are slow in coverage. I like how our passing matches up against your secondary.

You've got a great DL against the run but they don't put enough pressure on QBs. Also, your DL is a natural 3-4 but you mostly have to play a 4-3 against a spread team like OM.

Our DL is salty and loaded with seniors and juniors in the 2-deep. Henry couldn't do squat against us last year. I'm more worried about Drake.

I'm confident that our secondary will be better than yours.

Your OL will be a lot better, of course, except at LT (and Robinson is still elite even if not good as Tunsil).

All of that said, I don't blame Bama for being confident given OM's record of futility in Tuscaloosa.

Passing

Only because of what Wallace did to Bama last year. You're assuming that Treadwell and your other receivers will remain dominant and thus make the QB look better than he really is. Ole Miss' passing game is no better than Bama's as both have somewhat unknowns at the position.

ALSO, do you really believe your defense will do that well? The strength of Ole Miss last year was the secondary. Alabama was a pass heavy team last year. Assuming what Nick Saban wants in our offense comes to fruition, the secondary of Ole Miss shouldn't factor in. Alabama will be a run heavy team this year.

You're assuming that our rushing will be the same or worse than last year. You're also assuming that our defense hasn't improved at all either. What confidence do you have that your rushing attack will be able to move the ball? Yeldon is gone and we shut Henry down.

I seriously doubt that a 1st year starting QB in his 3rd games scores 27 on our defense.

Maybe not, but that O-line and Derrick Henry will do the job.

I realize that and he's the biggest X factor for your offense QB problems aside. Similar to how if Denzel rounds back into his RS freshmen form for our defense.

Do you even follow college football? You arent going to down hill run OM for 27 points. LSU did it for 10 and it took a long drive with RN on the bench for them to do it.

They did not. They ran around and over but not downhill like Bama will.

Even though Ole Miss won last year and returns most of their team they will get blown out cuz Bama. Saban's revenge anger is worth at least 40 points.
