True, but why was Saban's worst team his first team, but the worst team for Miles his fourth?

Bc LSUs quarterback was kicked off the team and the DC went to Nebraska.

Honestly though, I think 2014 was Les' worst team. And I offer no excuses for it. Just pitiful offense with a new young QB.

The real thing that has separated LSU and Alabama is LSUs bad QB recruiting and NFL attrition which really hit the 2012 and 2013 teams.

Pretty good recap. Maybe this year will turn the four year tide back.

I think you have a more important rivalry to worry about before that

Who are you kidding?

TSIO is a joke to everybody except Tennessee fans.

Isn't TSIO this upcoming week? Leave us alone brah

This is what happens when there is yet another watered down Bama/Tennessee matchup.

Yeah, it's gotten beyond pathetic how they keep trying to prop this up as a real rivalry. Trust me, Vols, nobody cares any more how you decide to lose to Alabama again. You might as well be playing Florida. No matter what happens or how well you play, you will always lose because you're Tennessee and that's what you do.

What's sad is Bama fans always act like they dominate lsu because of 4 in a row and 21 0. They always forget that we either outplay them, lose in the last minute, and play close games most years. It's not like Bama has been head and shoulders better. It's an even match-up almost every year with Bama having luck on their side

I thought this was an excellent recap and just reminded me of the highs and lows I've experienced in this game over the last decade or so. I've got to give this to Bama...I don't think any one team has thoroughly dominated a similar team quite the way bama has done to us all time. I remember the 90s when we FINALLY ended that drought of beating you in DV. What was it, a couple of decades?

It is why no matter the records going in, Bama v LSU is the game I circle and am most nervous about every year. Les probably has one of the better records of any of our coaches against y'all all time. And it's still a losing one (although he has a chance to even it up this year!).

The good thing is that this "rivalry" (for lack of a better term) has been a whole lot more competitive the last decade and a half. Great games more often then not (I can only remember 4 that didn't go down to the wire). I'm glad this is the game of the year again this year. To me, it feels like all is right with the world. I really wish y'all would have beaten ole miss. I'm trying to convince someone to go to the game with me but my dad just had surgery and my bro can't make it from Omaha. None of my friends are able to make it either....I may make the trip from Waco by myself.

The atmosphere for this game is always legit. I can't wait for 3 weeks!!!

I mean no matter how much you convince yourself, you got lucky calls that decided the game in two instances (Vadal and Pat Pete)

I'm responding to your post since I have no interest in reading another one of MetryTiger's sick, rambling, incoherent rants. But this goes out to a lot of you.

I will get real with you: that was a blown call on the PP interception. Happy? Guess what, calls don't always go your way. If I wanted to make myself miserable I would post incessantly about the blown calls the last 10 seasons that have likely gift wrapped LSU wins (Noah Webster?), but, again, I'm not a paranoid, miserable frick who lives in the past.

Moving forward, I come here just to point out that the alternate reality yourself and a huge portion of your fanbase seems to have constructed around that 2009 game is truly disturbing. LSU's offense looked like a monkey trying to frick a football against Bama's defense most of that night. For you to say that one missed call by the referees "decided the game" (a 9 point win by Bama) is delusion bordering on mental illness. Here are some stats from that game, by the way:

Total Yards
Alabama: 452
LSU: 253

First Downs
Alabama: 24
LSU: 13

Deep down you know that one call likely had zero impact on the outcome of a game like that. And you don't just do this with Alabama. Are y'all still furious about that no call pass interference against Auburn? I can't remember exactly, was that game around the turn of the century? fricking A'. You should actually be thanking the refs when stuff like this happens as they have given you a scapegoat, a precious gift preventing further damage to your twisted delicate little psyches.

I don't get too worked up about the 2009 INT Bc LSU would've just punts anyway. Of course we can't know that for sure, but yeah we know that for sure. 2009 LSU had a miserable offense even by LSU standards. The INT would've made the score 21-15 in the end.

Reasonable post, not the least of which is "we'll never know." I try not to make sweeping generalizations about groups of people but the airtime that one play gets by so many LSU fans is just absurd, suggesting that it was just an 100% game changer. As you stated, that LSU offense was just inept, and gave no reason that particular night to suggest they would have just marched down the field if that pick had stood.
