The receiving corps looks like it has the potential to be very good. There's really no excuse for the passing game to flounder this year. If it doesn't show significant improvement it's on the coaching IMO. If Harris can't demonstrate competent QB play then this staff is either failing miserably at evaluating QB talent or they are failing to set them up for success. This is a big year for Miles and Cameron IMO. The youth excuse is not there to hide behind anymore.

This sounds like LSU's situation every year. Unless Saban runs out of the tunnel leading the team, I don't see LSU winning anything of significance.

Whether we have had a good quarterback or not, LSU has had no problems handling A&M without Saban. We don't need Saban to dominate Aggie that's for sure. Your post conveniently forgets Mettenberger just two years ago. I'm not saying we don't have work to do, but your premise against LSU is almost as ridiculous as your record against LSU.

Not really. no one just loses Odell, Jarvis, Mett, and Jeremy Hill and not struggle.

LSU's two glaring weaknesses are QB and linebackers, a position that was the only recruiting Chavis was really responsible for. His prized recruit was a fat, lazy kid from Illinois who specialized in blasting cigs and trying to pick up sketchy poon at Reggie's.

Miles' arse is on the line, and he had his pick of the litter for coordinators this off-season. All we can do is have faith Steele can get it done. Regardless, LSU's talent level on defense was dropping and dropping fast. You all can laugh at the offense as much as you want, but they kept our overrated defense off the field most of the season last year

Another LSU fan relegating their definition of significance to beating A&M

Jennings getting suspended may just be the key that kickstarts Harris to starter and more potential under center. LSU is pretty thin for depth at LB but everything else is pretty solid.

Also, everybody is putting the low offensive output all on the QB's. Last year most of our receivers stunk due to low experience. If the Spring Game is any indication the QB's and the receiving corps all have much better chemistry.

I have been enjoying the overlooks by most of the media so far. Everybody will have a good idea by third game after we have played MSU away and Auburn at home.

Buck Fama!

Well, this could be a contender for dumbest post of the year. Congrats!

With the offensive line and running backs on squad, that's scary enough. They have freaks at WR also so with good QB play it will b be a nightmare trying to stop them. Let's also hope to see the defense struggle under Steele. This could be a championship season for the swamp kittens. The trash talk will be unbearable. God I hate the tigahs.

Upvote.

Even if the QB play is just mediocre, with the game plan from the bowl game we could be damn strong this year.

It's still only June.

He really didn't. Chavis bitched out at such a horrible time, the best guys were gone. We could have had Muschamp.

You're really better off ignoring Aggies here.

With good QB play LSU will be in the hunt for the SEC championship. I doubt we'll sniff the playoffs because I don't think we'll have the good QB play.

It seems well known in the LSU circles some big names were very much interested. You and I will never know anyways.

I agree. I just try and respond to some posts that seemingly aren't trolls on the SECR

This. All the available ones were hired and the contenders signed extensions with current schools by the time Chavis left.

You have to realize the DC job seemed to come with a caveat that Les gets to decide who the position coaches were. Every big name is going to tell you to kick rocks if you don't let them choose their own staff.

How bad will the meltdown be if Harris plays well early in the season and then Les decided Jennings must get playing time after he's reinstated?

Well, it will be eerily similar to the last time this happened, I'd imagine....
