LSU 2007 would beat both of those teams. The 2009 and 2012 versions of LSU almost beat those teams.

2007 Alabama almost beat 2007 LSU and that 'Bama team finished the regular season at 6-6. Are you saying 2007 Alabama could beat 2009/2012 Alabama?

06 UF held a heisman trophy winner and one of the most explosive offenses in history to 82 total yards.

People underestimate that team big time because of all the close calls in the SEC that season.

We had too many close calls against bad teams though (including winless FSU).

Holy shite, someone actually thinks the '07 LSU team would keep it within 2 TDs of '12 Bama, much less beat them?

I don't give a shite if Glen Dorsey was 100% and shitting gold pieces. That 'Bama OL is one of the greatest in CFB history. The '12 Bama D may not have been to the level of '11 (one of the greatest Ds in CFB history) but still an elite squad. '12 Bama houses '07 LSU.

For that matter, so does '09.

12 Bama didn't house 12 LSU.

Damn good thing '07 LSU blew out a powerhouse '07 Bama team, I guess.

I'm not the one saying that they'd "house" 12 Bama.

That UTk team would have beat the shite out of any team OU played that year, and Auburn had to beat them twice.

Does that mean '12 UGA houses '07 LSU as well?

The Heisman Trophy winner didn't start and at calling 2006 OSU one of the most explosive offenses in history.

I'm a huge OSU homer and that team wasn't as explosive as 2013 nor 2014. It was pretty good offensively, 34 points (8th in the country) but 26th in yards per game at 385. Just for reference this year OSU had 515 yards a game and scored 44.8

Edit: I'm an idiot. Misread the post thought it said Florida had a Heisman winner (Tebow) that's why i said he did't start. THE REST STILL APPLIES

Just sticking to the BCS winners:

98 Tennessee yes
99 Florida State no
00 Oklahoma yes
01 Miami no
02 Ohio State yes
03 LSU yes
04 USC no
05 Texas no
06 Florida yes
08 Florida no
09 Alabama yes
10 Auburn no
11 Alabama no
12 Alabama yes
13 Florida State no

Edit: I'm talking about a healthy 07 LSU, keyword healthy.

Well, then...not if they are playing a "healthy" '98 UT team. Remember, UT's starting RB (Jamal Lewis) tore his ACL the 4th game of the season against Auburn...so UT had to run two True Freshmen RBs the rest of the season and still ran the table.

UT started the season off a bit slow with Tee Martin...but the defense was incredible the entire season.

With a healthy Jamal Lewis by the time Martin got rolling...that UT offense would be freakin scary.

re: 2003 LSU vs 2007 LSU

I agree with Korin on this one that 2007 would have won. The strength of the 03 team was Saban's confusing blitz scheme, which few had seen up to that point. The strength of the 07 team was actually the offense, which could ground-and-pound with Hester or spread you out with athletes like Holliday or Doucet.

07's offense would have neutralized whatever blitz the 03 team could dial up, and Matt Flynn was competent enough to read defenses and get the ball to athletes. With a healthy Dorsey, the 07 defense would have been good enough to stand up to 03's rushing attack, limiting ball control and forcing bad field position. 07 would have won. That's my take, anyways.

And also got to play against rooster boy in the title game.

And who else? Only Auburn. That was a hell of a team. I guess you think 2008 UF sucked balls, cause they lost to Ole Miss at home.

Too bad Ole Miss was 9-4 and finished top 15 after clownstomping #7 in the Cotton Bowl.
