To see if another coach makes a difference.

2008: To be honest, the only game that I think should've been a win that was a loss was Georgia Tech. All of the excellent coaching in the world likely just makes the Alabama and Florida losses close ones.
2009: Another coach definitely makes a difference vs LSU and Kentucky (Stafford and Moreno coming back would have also helped and may have even helped against Oklahoma State). Florida and Tennessee stay losses and the Florida game likely stays a complete blowout.
2010: OK, those that think Richt is a bad coach have a point here. At least 3 of the first 4 losses should've been wins and the Florida game probably should've been too.
2011: LSU and Boise State were the better team, but South Carolina and Michigan State should've been wins.
2012: Remove the South Carolina game and there really isn't much to complain about in this season. Georgia gave their best shot in the SECCG and it took big plays for them to be in it at all.
2013: Mostly injury marred, however the Vanderbilt loss was inexcusable.
2014: Those that think Richt is a bad coach have a point here again. If the end of game scenarios were managed better, Georgia goes 11-1 with their only loss being a real headscratcher.

So I really only think another coach makes a difference in 2 of the last 7 full seasons.

That Vandy game was probably our worst injury wise that season. It was still an inexcusable loss, but it was also one of the worst reffed games I've ever seen. If the new targeting rules were in effect we would have won that game.

2010, we lost AJ Green for those first few games and our team didn't adjust well at all. That's definitely partially on Richt, but it hurt losing a top 10 pick for that 4 game stretch. We also fumbled on the goalline more often than any team I've ever seen that season.

Remember that Richt losing control had to do with many of the losses that weren't absolute headscratchers

You should apologize to all the trees that spent time creating oxygen that you waste when you breathe.

So my closing point is the only seasons that Georgia fans have a right to be mad about are 2010 and 2014 of right now. Any other season that they are mad about and think should have been better, can we elaborate please?

The 2008 team had An overall number one pick at QB, a future All-Pro First Teamer at wide receiver, A first round running back, and a future NFL sack Leader.

They should have been way more competitive with the top teams.

depleted offensive line in this conference means you can't compete at the top level

in 2010 you got out coached and out played by arkansas that year. that team was loaded and that was before Knile got going. that was a loss period. wouldn't have mattered when you played them that arkansas team beats you.

A lot of coaches could have made those seven seasons much worse. People love to criticize Richt, but he has had a stable, successful program. I guess it depends on what you like, the carousel or the roller coaster.

What game are you talking about? You are talking to a generic SEC fan.

So... Basically Georgia in my lifetime is a title contender when Florida is either unfairly penalized for thinking they could run their program by Bama rules and/or when Florida has a mediocre idiot as a HC.

Can't look backwards. In the last two years we have two new coordinators and damn near all new staff. Richt is doing his last revamp of the staff (that happens when you coach this long). If in a couple of years we haven't won the SEC and or NC he will retire. JMHO

That team was loaded, such a shame to waste that talent...
--16 players are currently on NFL rosters
--11 currently start for their team (including K Walsh and P Butler )
--7 players have made the Pro Bowl
--2015: Rashad Jones, Geno Atkins, AJ Green, Justin Houston all look like locks for the 2015 Pro Bowl

frickKK!!!!!!!!!! I hate football

That team had a lot of talent but a lot of that talent hadn't developed yet and we were paper thin in the trenches.

Serious insight here.....a different coach would have had a different outcome.

Recruiting rankings for UGA

2008: #5
2009: #6
2010: #12
2011: #6
2012: #5
2013: #10
2014: #9
2015: #8

How anyone can defend Richt with those recruiting classes I really have no idea. It blows my mind how UGA has had 8 consecutive top 12 recruiting classes and has......no SEC Championships.

UGA fans are ok with that? Unbelievable.

The last 3 years have been a complete train wreck, if they get blown out on Saturday by Florida UGA needs to find a new coach.
