But you had the most talented team in the nation in 2005, 2006 and 2007. That was due to the recruiting that was done from 2001-2005.

That's a little harsh. He's been alive and well for 18 years after the last game he coached. He was old school, but he wasn't that old at Bama. Spurrier is much older now than Stallings was at Bama.

I wasnt speaking to his age but his personality. he just was a boring, lifeless, dull personality compared to Miles being kind of a flake and very engaging.

handcuffed him in the same way Miles is doing with Cameron.

wait, LSU fans believe this? I think its painfully obvious that their QB is holding back the offense, not Miles. And I doubt Cam Cameron would stick around if he doesnt have full control of the offense.

WildTchapitoulas - first of all, I am a girl. Second - i have no idea what you so indelicately were referring to in your rant. Thirdly - I wasnt responding just to your post. I havent figured out exactly how to respond in general without choosing the post reply button. Forgive the error of my ways. I was making a point that many in here seem to be forgetting.

I'm an older Bama fan and I enjoyed the Stallings era; he was just what we needed at that time. I'd rather win games ugly than lose 'em in style...

You should really be an LSU fan!

Everyone on this board thinks LSU is dead in the water. Did they think that about Auburn after LSU raped them last year?

Every Bama fan LOLed at AU for getting spanked in the "stiff dew". Look how that turned out a few weeks later

I consider the Stallings comparison a high compliment.
I have tons of respect for that man.
That man knows more about football than all of us combined.

Les will always be Les. But by all means- count him out as dead in the water.

I like you but I don't like the comparison. However, to be fair, I am not saying it is a bad comparison. I even like Les, but I fricking love Stallings.

Stallings gave the greatest sports program in the history of sports a return to greatness that was epic. Les is awesome and won a championship. Regardless of the circumstances relative to what he inherited or how many losses he had, he won a natty. That goes in the books fo-ever and LSU fans should be proud. However, Stallings will forever warm this Bama fans heart when I think about that season where Bama showed why we are and always will be Bama. Every program is special in it's own way, but none as much as Bama. And that is why you have fans and you have Bama fans. They are not the same. Nor should they be.

The reality of this years LSU team is two things.

1) The oline has played like shite

2) The dline hasn't been good for two years now.

Those two things are what Les depends on.

If he has those two things at a high level, we can beat anyone.

MSU handed us our arse. The result reflects it.

pretty much this.

and he's going to take his 4 loses and be happy about it rather than risk losing 7 by changing things with the upside being you maybe go 10-2. I can't say that i like it but it i was in his position i might do that same.

Might as well go 3-set spread and roll with Harris.

Take the lumps now and gear up for next year.

A metric shite-ton of wins, couple NC's and some SEC titles thrown in for fun....more NFL-caliber talent then you could shake a stick at on any given Sat. I'd have to agree with your statement.

So, did you losers get what you deserved or has it just been crazy long streak of bad luck?

LSU football has been tough to watch the last few years. You can tell how good they could be if Les would just turn into Bobby Bowden and let his coordinators run the game.

Nothing was tough to watch about our offense last year.
