He averaged 10 wins a season, had a perfect season, won the inagural SECCG, and the national title (beatdown) over then dynasty Miami.

IN 2007 we were hoping for success like that again.

And I always say that we watch sports to be entertained. Nothing about watching that offense struggle entertains LSU fans. shite is depressing.

Not a troll at all, merely an observation on what I believe to be their similar philosophy.

And as far as Stallings having to pick up the pieces, folks forget Curry only lost 2 games his last season to Auburn and Miami.

I actually liked Stallings' style. You could see the opponents will to fight just go away after their 10th consecutive three and out. Of course, I played defense in high school so that probably plays a factor in my opinion.

Fair comparasion. But it is hard to argue with both of those men's records. LSU and Bama both could do worse than those imo.

But Les was handed a Ferrari.

2000 Louisiana State 8-4
2001 Louisiana State 10-3
2002 Louisiana State 8-5
2003 Louisiana State 13-1
2004 Louisiana State 9-3

Less than 3 losses only once is not handing a Ferrari to someone.

Because of Stallings' ho hum offenses, a lot of fans couldn't wait for him to move along so a younger, more "in touch" coach could take over. Enter Mike Dubose.......

I understand LSU fans' frustration with losses like the one last Saturday but Miles has proven to be a very good coach over time. People wanting him replaced need to be careful what they ask for.

That's what I'm talking about.

I liked Gene, and take the OP as a compliment to Les.

At least Les is entertaining in his own right - eating grass - making weird facial expressions - jabbing pinky finger in the ear….

no one gives a flying frick about his personality

I totally agree. Fans are fickle.

No doubt. But outside of last year and, idk, 2007, the offense has been hard to watch.

Les' downfall imo is the inability to start and develop a good QB. Don't ask me how he won an SEC title in 2011 in a very strong year for the SEC with Jordan Jefferson

That's just it, the negatigers ALWAYS want to fire the current coach - the problem is that they NEVER get the coach they want, so they insist on firing the new coach. And around and around it goes. It makes me wonder what the hell do they get out of following college football anyway if they're never happy with the results. Hell, take up knitting or some shite.

You are spot on. Miles still passes the ball more than Gene did.

It takes time to develop players. Last year we had Mett, OBJ and Landry. They weren't at their capacity their first year of play - they developed. You can't expect a bunch of freshman to come in and play to that level right away. Some of you really need a reality check.

This is true, Sims is a Senior and plays like it for the gumps. But Miles still should realize he can't stay so damn conservative.

You wouldn't know reality if it gave you a dirty fricking sanchez.

are you kidding? Stallings had to have a staffer whose sole job was to check his pulse every 5 minutes.

That's a little harsh. He's been alive and well for 18 years after the last game he coached. He was old school, but he wasn't that old at Bama. Spurrier is much older now than Stallings was at Bama.

It made no sense in the context of my post he was responding to:

I'm not advocating firing Miles, so I don't need someone to apologize for him.
