and auburn was also not 1

damn were they really not? they all run together now

but yes I am confused...is this just using the ranking for what the team was ranked at the end of the year or at the time of the game

because if its end of the year, then you would have to add the Bama win from last year but also take away the Ohio State win since they weren't No. 1 after we beat them in the NC game

I don't get the OP's post at all anymore

Florida was #11 when we played.

LSU is 1-2 against #1 teams under Miles. We are 5-3 against Bama under Miles. 3-3 against Bama under Saban.

Reality is stats don't mean a thing in this game and the more the pundits keep disrespecting LSU's team, the more pissed off the team gets. Bama may win, but they are going to have to earn it on Sat. night.

Your list sucks arse.

Florida wasn't #1 in 08.

Alabama WAS #1 in 08.

Auburn wasn't #1 in 2010.

What the frick is wrong with you?

I'm pretty sure Auburn was ranked ~5 when LSU played them in 2010.

ETA: See other people addressed this issue, only read the first page or two.

We were ranked 4th. After the win AU was #1 in the BCS standings.

According to cfb stats, Les Miles is 1-3 in games vs. #1 ranked teams while at LSU.

Does it really matter what his record "was" against #1's? Come Saturday no one will care about it either way. You see how he DOES have one win? That shows you that he has what it takes to do it again.

However, CLM is 5-1 in his career, 4-1 @ LSU vs Defending NCs.

I don't think Saban has lost to a defending NC since he's been at Alabama. Beat LSU in '08, Florida in '09, and Auburn in '11.

The Tigers are undefeated in home games under Les when I put my left sock on first in the morning instead of my right on gamedays*

*Only Saturday games, I put my left sock on first for the Monday game against Tennessee in 2005. However I am pretty sure I put my right sock on first on the Saturday when the game was supposed to be played so my record still stands

ETA: when I put my right sock on first, I believe we are 9-6 since I have been keeping track...21-0 when I put the left sock on first

I don't know that record vs #1 teams really tells us much for obvious reasons (playing #1 you would typically be the underdog not to mention tiny sampling).

I would, however, like to see Miles Record vs Top10 teams....Top5 teams. Might give us a little bit clearer picture.
