We actually played really well in the bama game till the 4thQ.

I was at the Bama game. I just remember not understanding why everyone made such a big deal about the bad call when it was clear LSU wouldn't have won anyway. It seemed like it was one of those games that the score was closer than the quality of play and progress on the field for a long time. Then it just broke away.

I'm going to go look at the box score stats to see how my memory serves me. That was a fun game.

Sorta I guess

You scored the go-ahead touchdown on a drive that consisted of one play. Who's to say we couldn't have done the same? Alot of yall assume when we say "we would have had a chance to win" means gradually going down the field and running it down your throats for the game winning touchdown. Of course yall can't picture that happening, hell neither can I. All it takes is one play. But meh, that game was so 4 years ago.

correct

correct on score, but FL was ranked out of the top 5 coming off loss to ole miss

In 2009, LSU lost to #1 ranked FL 13-3 in Tiger Stadium at night.

Correct, LSU completely outmanned in that game

quote:

In 2010, LSU lost @ #1 ranked AU 24-17.

correct, game tied at 17 late in the game

other loss was in OT against #1 Bama at home when LSU had it's worst team in the last 15 years... and our fr qb threw 4 picks

Here's to our 23rd straight win at home

Not exactly correct. Bama took the lead on a long TD pass to Jones when Peterson was out with cramps. LSU was starting to gain some offensive momentum when we lost our starting RB and QB in the fourth qtr. Even with all that, it was still a 1 possession game when that obvious blown call didn't go our way. Would we have won? Maybe not. But we would have had a much better shot if we had gotten the ball near mid field like we should have.

This is true, but when Alabama played LSU in 2009, they had only lost one game, which was to Florida. No one knew they were shitty until after the Alabama game.

We were shitty in '09? 9-3 isn't shitty FWIW.

I know... and every year is so different, even if there are similarities. It's so funny to me how much time people spend arguing and chatting, and then, you get to the game and it all goes out the window. I don't think any of it makes any difference... Miles vs #1... Miles after a bye, Saban after a bye...

I'm excited for the game on Saturday night. I hope it's exciting, and for entertainment's sake, we see the LSU that we saw against South Carolina and A&M. I've been to a few LSU and Alabama games already this year, and I can't wait to see how it all shakes out.

considering that you 2 of those were from 08 and 09, this is a really shitty flame. Those were 2 dark years for LSU and Miles couldn't have done shite

When I went to the LSU games, I wore purple, and tried to be a gracious guest so that my friends who went to LSU wouldn't be embarrassed or black balled for bringing a dreaded Alabama fan to the their sacred haunt. The people that I've met and who don't know me well think I'm an LSU fan, even though I'm from Alabama, and I never actually corrected them. I didn't want to spoil their party before, and some LSU fans have weird reactions to Alabama fans. Even nice ones.

Anyway, I'm really excited to go dressed in my cute crimson outfit and with my shakers and see everyone's reaction when they realize I was the enemy all along. One older man keeps saying how glad he is that Louisiana still has such great girls, and I feel a little guilty. That said, I'm coming out of the closet!!

I know... :csb:

I haven't read this thread...but hopefully someone pointed out that this is wrong

This game was after they had lost to Ole Miss at home and LSU was undefeated at the time

no way Florida was ranked #1 in the nation

but that is on top of the fact that none of the games means a single thing to the game Saturday night...but continue with the elephant fellatio, Gumps

They actually played the piglets the following week.

We had a bye before the game and still got destroyed

it was brutal

I only know they weren't #1 because before the game their fans were all slightly depressed while LSU fans were fired up since we were undefeated and it was easy to taunt them with "Hotty Toddy" chants

(I also remember the Saints had just lost to the Vikings on MNF because their fans were trying to use Adrian Peterson/Vikings taunts as comebacks )

little did we know that after that game UF would go on to steam roll everyone else all the way to a National Championship and we would stumble our way through the rest of the season (Bench Lee! Put in JJ!)

2008 was such a shitty season from the time that game kicked off...but Florida was definitely not ranked #1

I just looked at the 2008 rankings... I'd forgotten that at one point in 2008, LSU was ranked #2 in the Coaches' poll and #3 in the AP.

Florida was #11 or #12, depending on the poll.

yep read my post above

we were undefeated...when that game kicked off LSU's season went to shite (until we killed Georgia Tech in the CFA Bowl) and UF went on to steamroll everyone else en route to another NC

it was crazy how that one game swung both teams' seasons

I went to every game, home and away, in 2008...I sure picked a great season to go "all in" with the road trips

Uf was not 1 when we played them in 08 and it was a road game and auburn was also not 1 and it was a road game.

If your basing it on end of the year rankings, you can add another w because LSU did beat the #1 team last year

They shouldn't even have rankings until the 5th game. The preseason rankings this year were the most part, worthless. Look at Arkansas... you just have to roll your eyes.
