Mizzou is 14-2 in SEC the last 2 years, 1 win over SEC team with above .500 record.

FYI: Alabama is also 14-2, has 2 wins over SEC teams with winning records in the same time period.

It's like they can't put together the fact that going 14-2 in conference when the overall conference record must be .500 throws off the ability to have lots of +.500 teams.

Nevermind. Figured it out. Add that this is IN LEAGUE PLAY and it makes much more sense.

It's certainly impressive no doubt, but if they were in the West I'm sure they finish 2nd or 3rd to last...

I agree there is a media slant against y'all (at least as far as the SEC goes). you have stepped on some toes man. you, you yankee upstart you. I mean, Tennessee, Georgia or Florida is supposed to be kicking your arse. South Carolina too. and here you are, coming in and beating those good ole boys. it just ain't right.

Let's face it, the media is always ready to blow the whistle on Mizzou.

Mizzou would have had winning SEC record if in the West, maybe not 7-1 but winning record

you replied to the wrong poster. but I think you're probably right.

you guys really don't get the credit you deserve for the last two years success; in the SEC or outside the SEC. you still aren't sniffing top 10. I think if y'all beat bama in Atlanta you will be cut out of the playoffs. I guess a few more years of consistent success is what it's gonna take.

Mizzou deserves some credit but it would be laughable to suggest that over the last 2 seasons the West and East were on the same level of toughness.

That is because you are an idiot. Last year, Mizzou and South Carolina finished Top 10. Arkansas wasn't very good last year. Vandy was actually pretty decent last year. SEC West is not as good as you think.

Mizzou has been better than LSU the last 2 years and is a better team than LSU

I thought all the teams in the West had a winning record this year except Arky which is even.

now you done gone and pissed me off. here I am, being nice and look where it got me. LSU would have crushed you the last two years, esp if we had played later in the season. you are very lucky not to have to face LSU so I guess you pick us to pick on. and since you and those aggie types are the reason our rotation sucks even if we do crush you when we meet it will be years before we meet again.

you guys are lucky ones that got to go in the East. a&m is seeing what the west is.

Well, Missouri would have likely gone to the BCSCG last year instead of Auburn if they would have beaten Auburn. They were getting plenty of respect in the BCS rankings, but they got run out of the Georgia Dome in the second half and that was that.

They would be in the exact same position regarding the playoff this year if they would not have lost to Indiana. It is hard to overstate how bad that loss is. The blowout loss to Georgia is also a pretty bad mark, but even with that they would again be in a position to win the SECCG and go to the playoff except for Indiana. You simply can't lose games like that.

I think it's hard to say that Mizzou has been a better team than LSU the past two seasons. They haven't had a chance to match up head to head. I do agree that the west is the top division in college football top to bottom, but, what I disagree with is the notion that MU would be a bottom feeder if they played in the west. It is a flawed thinking process to say that because a team hasn't played certain teams, that they couldn't beat certain teams. MU is 4-0 against the west the past two seasons. that is the only "fact" that is known because those are the only games that have actually been played on the field and not in peoples' mind.

@elposter: completely agree with your post. MU has put themselves into a position to earn that media respect the past two seasons. It's up to them to earn it by winning the big game on the field.

elposter, you are spot on.

Mizzou looked past IU and the Hoosiers made them pay. To their credit I think they took something from that (and the blowout loss to UGA) and morphed into a salty team with a nasty defense. A lot of other teams would have simply packed it in. I don't expect them to win in Atlanta but wouldn't be suprised if they did.

I have no problem with Mizzou not being ranked in the top 10 or being excluded from the playoff conversation. If you don't want to get fleas, don't lie with dogs.
