We'll take Florida's 11 spot when we win the tournament.

No, if you win the tournament, you'll be a 14-16 seed. Remember Georgia in 2008 was a 14 after winning the tournament.

Question for more intelligent tournament watchers, if we go 1-1 and go 1 and done in the SECT, will that put us on the bubble?
Bad loss or "good" loss in the SECT. I assume a bad loss might put us on the bubble.

Just don't lose to Mizzou again and Cocky should be in.

We've let the other conferences define us in basketball by saying we are only a football conference. (minus KY) With the selections for the tournament being so subjective, that perception has hurt the conference's ability to get more teams in. The SEC front office needs to change the narrative.

1 more win and we're a lock. Lose out and we're on the bubble with a 51% chance of still getting in IMO

Assuming you win at home and lose on the road, then lose to a team like Alabama or Ole Miss in the the first game of the SEC Tournament, that would put SCAR's RPI around 51.
With a current record of 4-1 against the top-50 RPI, South Carolina should still be safe.
I said last week that it would take South Carolina losing their remaining 4 games (Saturday's loss to State included) in order to miss the tournament. That would put SCAR's RPI all the way up to 67, which could be a problem.

Just look at Vandy...
No way LSU makes it unless you win out and win the SEC tournament.

Can't ignore the fact that Mississippi State is going to be the 11 or 12 seed in the SEC Tournament.
It's very likely that Vandy ends up as the 5 or 6 seed in the SEC Tournament. State might be way down in the standings, but it's pretty undeniable that they are currently playing at a much higher level.
I think Vandy has to beat Tennessee and win a game in the conference tourney to be safe. If they were to finish 1-1 in the regular season, and then lose their first game in the SEC Tournament, their RPI would be up over 60.
Now, they played a tough SOS, and that should help them out. Although, they would be something like 4-8 in their games against the top 50. I think they SHOULD be in under this scenario, but I wouldn't call that anywhere near a lock. Nobody anywhere NEAR the bubble wants to lose their first game in their conference tournament.

If Alabama wins out (vs Arkansas, @ UGA), finishes #6 and beats #11 Mississippi State in the 1st round and then loses to South Carolina in the 2nd round they would finish with 20-12 with an RPI of around 50. I think that would probably be good enough (though still a ton of other factors outstanding).
If we split the next two, finish #7 or so, beat Ole Miss then lose to Kentucky, we finish at 19-13 with an RPI of about 62. I don't think that gets it.

Man if we beat Arkansas and Georgia and then get the #6 seed with USC the #3, that'd be a dream come true.

I just love that we're in the conversation this late in the year.

Yea it's totally absurd with this team. Avery has worked miracles.
