I thought same thing about D.C. I really like the DL coach. Seems like a great guy.

Some other program is going to step in and steal him.

In recruiting he does a good job of finding the best players that are leaving D1 programs and finding players that can't qualify. One could say that it's not very impressive but if it were that easy, why aren't other JCs just as talented as EMCC?

He learned how to do it from Tim Hatten, who is coaching HS football in FL now, or was a year or two ago at least. Once Hatten left PRCC and the recruiting rules changed, Buddy jumped at the opportunity a lot won't take. That JUCO league is FULL of elite talent, though. EMCC just constantly has the best QB play, and that sets them apart.

Just started. First episode of 2nd season about to end. He seems to want to change. I'll see we suppose.

I'm only a couple of episodes in. While Buddy does seem to be trying to ease his temper, I feel like it's only because of the backlash he got for the season 1 finale and not because he genuinely wants to be better.

He might be cursing less, but he's still ripping into his players without really addressing or correcting the issues. I really question how accomplished he'd be without the advantage of recruiting castoffs from Bama, FSU, UGA, etc.

It's like he's trying to hide behind this fake persona in order to repair his public image and I already have a feeling he'll show his true colors at some point this season.

I still wonder if BW over steps sometimes with her relationships...which might explain why she hasn't had the opportunity to get a better job in a similar work environment. Last year I thought she was loyal to EMCC, but this year it is obvious she tried to find such a job but couldn't.

As for the coach...I finished playing at the DII level and when my coach retired I went to him to thank him for what he had done for me personally. He said something that stuck out. I'll paraphrase. He said for every player like you who believes I helped them there is 100 guys who believe I ruined their career. Which wasn't completely untrue. Some guys don't have the mental make up to play at the next level no matter their physical skill set. I am not a fan of BS, but I also can't imagine any of the coaches I played under putting up with the stuff you see on that show.

It does seem very fake.
He claims to be wanting to change, but 2 episodes in, I don't buy it. Like you said still ripping players and still cursing even.
If mine decides to transfer (I made it a priority for him to make a very informed decision before he ever commited anywhere. I wasn't playing the decommiting bs) anytime soon, that's the last place I would want him. I don't care how many they send to whatever D1's. So do plenty of other Jucos.

I'm only a few episodes in but have a question about how they do the standings. The EMCC announcer has a few times told us about the standings and says it could be biased, there's a human element, etc. A few times they've also shown a full list of the standings top to bottom, and every time they have (and I've paused it to double check) the standings are completely and 100% based on points scored. Records varied from top to bottom but the one thing that was certain was it went in descending order of points scored.

Can someone elaborate?

Pretty sure he taught technique to an OL during the game. Footwork/make him go outside, don't give up the inside, he can't beat you outside.

It's a human poll. Don't know the points breakdown...but it isn't that different than how the BCS used to work when it used the AP per say. If you vote a team 1st in your personal poll it gives them more points. A way to manipulate that poll is to vote a deserving team very low to prevent them from getting the points they deserve say as the #3 team. I have no idea who the poll is made up of, but human bias plays a huge role in those types of polls. It's why the titles won up until the BCS and really the playoff system were so suspect at the D-I level.

My question after watching both seasons........are most college football programs like this? A struggle to get kids to class? Vulgar language in front of women and girls? Arguing with coaches, teammates? Giving chance after chance after chance? Head coaches who have little to no ability to articulate or communicate with players and coaches?

I was taken by the scene with Mullins at practice. Players gathered around, they listened, he didn't have to raise his voice to be heard. Hell Stephens is constantly shouting LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN!!!! I know my HS team wasn't nearly this dysfunctional.

It's called Last Chance U. Most of them are there because they don't listen, or didn't go to class, or speak vulgar to women, or can't handle authority figures.

I haven't watched this year but the HR lady or whatever she was who had that little office should get a medal or an award or something. She was a badass.

Also heard she got a new job I think. Is that true?

I don't know exactly what it is, but points scored does have something to do with getting to the national championship. They mentioned it in the first season I'm pretty sure, and that's the reason they run up the score against some of the weaker teams the way they do. It doesn't hurt that Buddy's an a-hole and doesn't really give a shite about running up the score.

ETA: What's so funny to me is back in 2003 when he was recruiting me, he was the OL coach at PRCC, and you would've never thought he could be doing what he's doing now.

Just watching it now, on the second episode.

Is it just me, or does anybody else think it's BS that the FSU QB was thrown out of school for throwing a retaliatory punch at a girl and she wasn't?

If you want to throw his arse out, throw it out. But why is the person who started a fight considered a victim? Honest question.

Some things you can't do under any circumstances...that's one of them. Had she come at him with a butter knife then it's different. Can't go blow to blow with a woman

I thought the kids from Florida State and Texas Tech were sincerely working to improve themselves and their futures. Sad the QB had to go play for Joey Freshwater

The more I come to respect Brittany, the less I come to respect the players. The penn state guy, specifically.

Obviously we don't see all of their interactions, but she's nothing but nice, and they only take her seriously 20% of the time--most of the time with both headphones in/on and staring blankly at their phone. The penn state kid couldn't even type his email in during that one 5 minute scene. Meds or not, that kid was awful.

No they arent. I also think some of the drama is fabricated for the camera. When I say some of it is fabricated I mean they are putting on a show in front of the camera at times.
