This shows just how far the Raiders AND other GM's talent evaluation has fallen off. Remember Blaine Gabbert? Jake Locker, Trent Richardson, etc, etc, etc.

I do a mock draft every year with several other guys and I had Jamarcus going in the 3rd round. Which ironically now, looks like I was being generous. Another guy had him 4th round and one had him early 2nd round. He had a big arm, most QB's do nowadays but I never saw that "it" factor with him that I saw in Brady or Peyton Manning. He should have been drafted but number one was borderline senile. He wasn't just a bust in the pros because I thought and said openly I'd be surprised if he lasts 3 years. He was also in the SEC in kind of a down time so it was a little easier to win games. Had he been drafted in the 3rd round, given a few years as a backup and learning the ways he may have been serviceable but that was his ceiling. Heck, LSU fans had him amoung the best ever QB's in college and would be the best in the NFL with future HOF credentials

Some of my LSU friends despised the guy for being the starter over Flynn and actually were adamant he would bust. I told them to stfu, but looks like they were right.

Keep on keepin on being salty...its really good for you!!! If you don't think LSU cheats, hell if you don't know that every major college program in the country cheats, then you are a delusional fool and you just need to hang it up and stop watching college athletics altogether.

I find it really stupid when people bring this up. Does every College bend the rules? Yes but not every college hands out over 100,000 to a player. If you think its BS then say its BS but don't try to lump every college in with yours.

I'll believe this when you post some proof.

He's been silent since I linked a website that showed Auburn to be, by far, the biggest cheater in the SEC. Guess you can pay off players or NCAA officials, but you can't pay both.

Wrong, idiot. Sam Bradford is the reason for rooking contract restrictions now.

The series has never been balanced...LSU would have to win twenty five straight to "balance" the series.

Check the records post - Bryant and get back to me. I REALLY don't care about the series before Bear, and neither should you. Bunch of scrub whites playing other scrub whites doesn't matter. Fact is, the last 34 years, the series is extremely balanced. Like I said, enjoy the Saban years, they are outliers, not the norm.

***Since 1982***

19 wins for Bama (5 in a row)
15 wins for LSU
1 Tie

Pretty balanced, bubba.

Like I said, the pendulum always swings, so enjoy the ride.

There have been at least 4-5 posts a day on the front page of tRant about all the players Bama has coming back. The majority of the posts in those threads are shite posts and trolls by LSU fans.

The players coming back for them is what it is. Deal with it!!! Wouldn't you rather your team beat them when they are at their best rather than with the team being depleted or do you guys think that is only way you will not lose to them for the 6th time in a row?

I would rather Auburn beat them at their best and if Auburn loses, they lost to a better team.

Classy post. You are a rare AU fan. Thank you for your service. And keep your head down. Auburn needs you back here safe and sound.

I've never seen something that dumb posted on the rant. Good luck with that with your all-reject defensive coaching staff

What does LSU have to do with who drafted Russell for that much money? Where did LSU force that on an NFL organization? I wish LSU deserved as much credit for Alabama's success as you're giving them with this thread.

I'm also wondering who the frick from our fanbase said this, if it's even true.

Yes all programs probably cheat, but there are some programs that cheat a hell of a lot more and that is WHY they get caught!!!

That's why I said I hope Saban stays a few more years and we beat him a few times to balance it out. Cmon, gump, read a little.

Jemarcus Russell's 61 million dollar deal for nothing is what changed the rules!!!

First off, it's Jamarcus.

Second, the owners wanted to change the rookie salary issue for years. Russell was just one of the last draft picks that got the extravagant contract. Which the owners are partially responsible for considering they caved to 10% increases for top draft picks every year.

Finally, remember that Leaf almost went before Peyton Manning while Russell was a huge physical specimen who had the late Al Davis Raiders picking #1 in a poor draft.

The craziest thing is that Russell is still the better 1st round QB in the 2007 draft and possibly the 2nd best QB in that draft behind Tyler Thigpen.
