Wow I'm surprised at the ignorance, there's a difference between a service academy which requires military service after graduation and and a military school.
You can't even use the terminology correctly.
A&M is a Senior Military College. One of six. There are three Military Academies (five if you include the Coast Guard and Merchant Marine Academies)
All first and second year cadets are required to choose an ROTC affiliation, which designates them eligible for call up in extremely dire circumstances (WWIII, etc.). Those who sign ROTC contracts do so their junior year (Academy cadets don't sign their contracts until their junior year. I've heard conflicting things about what happens to those that quit beforehand, whether they are required to enlist or are set free)
The difference between an Academy Graduate's obligation and an ROTC cadet's obligation is the number of years Active Duty they are required to serve prior to being able to separate.

Texas A&M is a Senior Military Institution.
Same classification as VMI, Virginia Tech, The Citadel, Norwich, etc.
Saying TAMU is a SMC isn't the same as saying it's a service academy. In the same vein, an SMC is different from normal collegiate ROTC programs.
Kyler quitting school to join the Marines???

Don't worry you're still fooling the masses lol.

Is Norwich North Georgia? Or is that a different school?

C'mon. At least try to troll correctly. You posted a picture of Soldiers in ACUs where it clearly says "US ARMY" on the left pocket. At least find a picture of Marines in the Digital Combat Pattern or someone in OCPs.

Different school. Norwich is in Vermont...and to beat Rhino to it, they were the first "Senior Military College".

As entertaining as all of this is, don't you thin this is probably about him playing baseball?
If he is the starting qb, I am pretty sure Sumlin would not want him playing.

A&M's enrollment swelled like a Corps Turd's pants when the quarterback walks in the room, right before World War II.
You see, they figured ROTC would get a draft deferment. Didn't matter, took 'em anyway.
Check out how many aggies like Rick Perry joined up in the Vietnam era to play toy soldier instead of serving overseas. Hmm...

I never understood why Aggies consider sipping tea an insult.... Can someone explain the sip insult to me?
Again it's a class distinction of the time. Coffee was the drink of soldiers and working men, tea was viewed as more high-brow.

I have little doubt that is what this is about.
The reason Jameis Winston made it work was that he was a relief pitcher (closer). Murray is a shortstop (pun intended).

I think if it was just baseball it would not have been brought up multiple times and made a big deal of.

Rick Perry was active duty in the Air Force from 1972-1977, butt pirate.
The bulk of the combat in Vietnam ended in early 1973.
