I think they're worried about the clones being grown in a lab underneath BDS. That, or they're just being pussies.

Yeah, but he's likely got another 5-9 years doing this and, if what that moron Les Miles did at LSU is any example, Bama should be able to hire a more than adequate replacement to make sure the program remains among the nation's elite.

They may have "agreed", but they had no choice. It wasn't merely something Alabama and UT agreed to in a vacuum. It was part of a scheduling format agreed to by the entire conference. What if UT had said no? They had no choice.
They absolutely had a choice in their permanents when they were agreed to in the 92 expansion and which one to retain when the second permanent was dropped in the early 2000's. Now that is not to say they would have had their pick of whichever team they wanted.

At this rate Alabama's schedule will be entirely OOC.

Move us to the East, will than make UT feel better... They can play Mizzou every year instead of Bama.

eh, history says it gets dicey around late 60's or so.

Just playing the numbers you're a good bit more likely to hire someone worse than Miles than you are someone as good or better.

Gawd, that is just awful. Every UT fan should be ashamed that they now look like Auburn trying to run away from Bama.
Back 10 years ago when Bama sucked, I looked forward to playing Auburn and Florida each year. If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best. And now that Bama is dominant, I'm glad our focus is on Beating Bama and complaining like little kids after their Summer Camp is canceled if we don't win...just means we take it seriously. But no one wants to run away from them!

I thought we wanted to keep our rivalry?

history also said Saban stays places 5 years or less. who would you compare Saban to in order to make an accurate evaluation of things getting "dicey"?

That's possible, but the program he's built and will eventually leave someone at Bama is better than what he left Les at LSU. Also, I'd say Dabo is as good or better than Miles. Just my opinion though.

that's completely irrelevant.
What is relevant is looking at other great coaches and when they began to slow down. Typically it was around late 60's, early 70's.
For all we know Saban could keep his current level for another 15 years. He could also start slipping next season. There's no way to predict, but it's fair to say it's likely we're a good bit closer to the end of the Saban era than we are the beginning.

Well that depends. If he goes through 2-3 sub-par years and his talent eval begins to slip then that wouldn't necessarily be the case.

Sure but there's no guarantee that a) Dabo would come, b) he would be Bama's first choice, or c) he would be as good at Bama as he has been at Clemson.

John Adams is the most hated writer in the state of Tennessee. I'm not going to even click on that link to give him the views. Anything that he says, 9/10 people in the fanbase feels the opposite about it.
This pussy definitely doesn't represent the views of the fanbase.
We had a guy like that named Ron Morris. Morris constantly pushed Holtz's buttons but he screwed the pooch when he went after SPURrier. SPURrier got his arse fired.
With that said Adams is just a prick of the lowest order. He always has been. I remember him ranting about South Carolina for years in the KNS. And I agree, every UT fan I know hates the guy.
Still yet, the SEC needs to get this scheduling thing fixed. It's outta whack, everyone knows it and it is B-Ham's job to get it fixed.
Everyone is going to have to bite the bullet a little bit. The three permanent, five rotational model is some of the stupidest bullshite I have ever read.
Just move Auburn to the East and go to a nine game schedule and be done with it. Either that or stick with the eight game schedule, move Auburn to the East and dump TSIO. It's the only other.right thing to do for the good of the entire league.

this is sad.
when bama was getting pounced on by everybody - retreat, regroup and realign never entered our minds. we weathered the storm.

Is that the guy that caused Spurrier to have separate pressers?

It should be based on divisional record.
