If you win the SEC you can win the National Title and yes UGA is capable of winning the SEC or at least getting to Atlanta in the watered down East and who knows if you can pull off an upset with around 1 loss or so that should be enough.

I say yes. It's just a matter of time before UGA wins one based on talent alone.

Again, Richt had all the talent as well.

How is Kirby better than Richt right now?

I totally agree!! Richt always got stellar QB play and the Uga defense was never horrid. Smart will not produce a smidget of the offense that Richt had.

Not exactly. Chaney is more than capable of putting up video game numbers on offense. He did that at UT. The trouble is that he's also apt to give up on the run, throw on third and short, and go 3 and out most of the second half and otherwise put up great looking numbers that take zero time off the clock, wear out his own defense, and enable the other team to put up more points.

Reining those tendencies in will be up to Smart. Richt had a potent but balanced offense throughout the majority of his tenure and Smart would do well to balance Chaney's offense in a similar way.

He's currently recruiting better.

It's tough to say because Smart is such an unknown.

Georgia SHOULD win championships. They ought to have a couple of appearances at least during this century like the rest of the big 6 (sans Tenn). In a world where 1 loss SEC champions is an automatic BCS/playoff bid (which we've had since the turn of the century with a few exceptions) they haven't been able to accomplish that. The closest they got was 2012. In a talent rich state like Georgia and a watered down East why on earth can't they get through at least once?

I think if they give Smart enough time he'll make a playoff appearance, and then it's anyone's game. Give him a few years to put up the fence, and hire the right staff. Then, if he can outlast Saban (give it 5 more years, I think) and if Tennessee stays garbage which is certainly plausible then he can definitely make it through the SEC with one loss. So I say playoff appearance after about 6 or 7 if they give him that long and then it's certainly possible.

Richt was stagnant. We weren't improving, just kind of maintaining. Some times a program needs a jump start and Smart gives that to the program.

Every single thing he's done so far as HC has been extremely impressive. He seems to be one step ahead of everything thus far. Only question is can he put it together and win ballgames. We'll see.

Saban's 2003 LSU Coordinators as head coaches:

Fisher - One NC
Muschamp - Zero now and forever

Therefore, who the frick knows.

I haven't seen anybody say that. Mind reader?

Come on, man! Ms. Garrison knows more about the inner workings at Alabama and Georgia than anybody anywhere!

This is the perfect storm for him. Alabama and Georgia. How could he resist?

It's appearing as if he putting up the fence. We are serious players for the majority of the best players in Georgia. We will PROBABLY sign more of the states top talent than we have in a long, long time.

Things are definitely looking up, but only time will tell for certain. But, we (UGA fans) are cautiously optimistic right now.

By then we will have chalked another 5 wins against Auburn, too.

after he goes 8-4 or 9-3 this year and the natives get restless because they realize they downgraded from Richt.
