I completely forgot that they played in the exact same offense.

You're right, stanfords run heavy, play action and tight end focused passing game should have produced much better completion percentages.

Everyone knew we weren't running the ball.

If you saw my next post you know it was higher than ANY QB in P5, and plenty of schools run our offense.

I was at both and they were incredible. '12 was one of the most insane games I've ever been to. Much more exciting than leading Bama wore to wire, even though it didn't get the press.

Passing was never really Manziel's wheelhouse. So the real news will be if he's more elusive and a better runner. If that's the case, the better passing will be a huge bonus.

I remember in 2012 we were up by 10 with 10 minutes to go thinking we had it in the bag. Then Manziel had 3 guys on top of him in the backfield on third and long, got out of it somehow and ran for 25 yards. I've never been so pissed in my life because at that time, he hadn't reached the mainstream and everyone was like "Why the frick are we letting this nobody do this to us?"

Y'all are the ones that gave him the confidence. Before that, he was too scared to try to extend plays. It's entirely on y'all.

The weather was miserable that day too. If I was an OM fan I'd been pissed sitting through that to see a 5'10 white kid win with 6 turnovers.

Forgot about this. Now I'm mad all over again. Then the next week y'all went on the road and beat Alabama

I've always said Manziel's coming out party was against us and not Alabama.

Daylon Mack is the best DT in the nation too. Myles Garrett wins the Heisman this year. We know Ags, we know.

Better passer and faster? SEC Frickkkkedd

Whoa!! Watch out SEC. tamu's freshman backup QB is gonna be better than the guy who went 19-6 as a starter.

“I see a lot. I think with Kyler’s dad, Kevin, who was a great player there, you can tell he’s worked with him on mechanics and footwork since he was walking, it looks like, and so I think he’s farther along as a passer. He still has a unique ability to extend play, and he’s really fast. When he takes off, nobody’s catching him. But I do think he’s farther along as a passer than Johnny was. Johnny just had that unique mystique and fearlessness that made him special. But I expect great things out of Kyler Murray out in Aggieland. So you should feel good about that one.”

Duke was the greatest game I ever saw it was unbelievable, Man Manziel also destroyed Arkansas every single time and that Ole Miss come back was ridicilous, definitely the most exciting cfb player of all time.

Nope Kyle will most likely start this year and maybe next. Kyler's run will be special though

From a pure passer standpoint... Manziel had great stats but wasn't a great passer. He was often off the mark in terms of small windows but had fantastic WRs who could make plays and a sixth sense in terms of getting the ball in the general area of where his receivers would be. He was fun to watch because plays often worked despite him being a chaotic passer (and his passing was just as chaotic as his running).

The baby faced killer y'all played at QB last year was a better passer than Manziel. I wouldn't be surprised at all of Murray was better too.

That said, Manziel had a knack, intangibles, if you prefer, that they may or may not have.
