Sure, but, of course, that is an incomplete analysis. We can also agree that a more rested player is more likely to make a harder hit than a fatigued defender. We can agree that being tackled by a bigger, stronger player is more likely to result in injury than being tackled by a smaller, weaker player. Running is more likely to lead to injury than walking.

I was giving Saban a little credit, but yes, I agree.

One can also argue that slower play results in injury because cold players are more likely to injure themselves than players who have warmed up and are playing warm. Slow play causes stiffness and results in injury.

Saban wants to keep getting his 400 pound linemen and LBs so he can keep beating up on teams can't physically match up with bama, but still play to bama's strength. He is lazy. His players are lazy. That's the only conclusion I can reach by all this nonsense.

I really enjoy that Nick is willing to burn the house down to keep others from taking it over.
This fricker would rather see football as we know it cease to exist, than to admit that the evolution of the. Game is passing him by.

He seems desperate. As an LSU fan, I legitimately feel sorry for him.

Les Miles seems to know what the frick he is doing on the D side of the ball. He has players that can do both pro-style and HUNH.

Alabama's defense usually outperforms LSU's. Last year LSU's defense did marginally better against Auburn in Baton Rouge than Bama did against Auburn in Auburn. Ole Miss ran LSU's defense ragged and was shut out by Alabama.

Miles (Chavis) has had Sumlin/Manziel's number. That's about the only thing you can say in favor or your argument.

Miles supposed genius compared to Saban re: the HUNH or ability to defend multiple offenses is consistetly overblown on this forum.

Oklahoma, Auburn, and A&M find a way to move the ball against the defensive style that not many other teams can conventionally; a defensive style that operates primarily based on defensive package strategy (which takes time when you're trying to sub in multiple players rather than subbing to give a player a break) and now the rules need to change.

All the offenses are doing is countering a strategy employed by Saban from his study of teams and what they like to do based on down and distance and formation percentages by taking away what he likes to do. This in-turn gives their team a better chance at success.

He simply needs to adapt which means lighter, more athletic linebackers which is what this argument is really all about. They would need to slim down to about C.J. Moseley's weight rather than play at 250-260. Consequently, it may also affect the run defense from being as stout.

I was talking about personnel makeup. LSU's defense has, bar none, the best group athletes in the NCAA. Bama has the biggest and strongest, but not necessarily the best athletes. Bama has its strengths, no doubt.

DropKick70 gave me a great idea for rule changes to football:

1. 4 10 minute quarters.
2. No blocking or tackling, flag or touch.
3. Played on a wooden court, indoors (very important).
4. Touchdown is accomplished by putting the football through the hoop, field goals from the free-throw line.
5. The shape of the football will be changed from oblong to round (safety purposes. Pointy things are dangerous)
6. No more kicking the ball. (too dangerous)
7. No more full-speed running (too dangerous). Instead, players must bounce the ball in order to run.
8. 11 players per team on the field is too dangerous. Limit each team to 5 players.
9. No more pads or helmets. They cause players to be reckless, which results in them causing more injuries than they prevent.

I think these new rules will make the sport better, more safe, and more enjoyable to many fans, especially those from the Atlantic Coast Conference.

I think you have to take it a step further and have mandatory breaks every few seconds. Otherwise it becomes a continuous game a la soccer or rugby or ...

one thing that has always concerned me is that each game takes about three hours to complete. The pace is breathtaking! Perhaps if the half time was extended to say....... 1/2 hour or maybe 1 hour this would give players and fans alike a moment to catch their breath. And a big plus would be additional TV revenue. Everyone would benefit.

These fools are simply giving the staff and players over in Tuscaloosa something to gear up for. Complacency has been their biggest adversary for the last couple of years, so what do these idiots do?...they go and give them something/somebody to get pissed at!
I don't know whether Saban realized what he was doing, or not, but it couldn't have worked out any better.
Thanks Auburn and LSU buffoons. It couldn't have happened without you!

I don't think he's ever exhibited such behavior until now.

Sure there is teh 'preciate the interest' type quips and his machoism to the local media, but those are just coaches being coaches and no one has ever accused him of being soft.

But yea, this is bad.

What in the frick does that even mean?

Kick 6 really sent Saban in a downward spiral. That 1 second must have taken 10 years off his life.

Wow, now I see it. Hiring Kiffin, losing the last two games, trying to get rules changed, lying about it, then minimizing it is all part of his master(batory) plan.

So sad, such a proud program Bear built, allowing a coward to force them to defend him.

Bear has a sadz!!
