I want to jump on the Ole Miss hate as much as anyone. But the kid was instigating (which is why he recorded it) and this honestly sounds like a coach who was trying to make this child a man but got fed up with the constant excuses that this society has sadly come to allow.
ETA: This kid will be telling you the mcflurry machine is broken soon.

I don’t really see how it is a bad look, to be honest. These kids want to be paid like professionals, they should expect to be treated like professionals and to be accountable like professionals.

Ok? Nobody cares. This is old news man
I can tell you from the people I know in the AD, this a non issue to them. Kid is obviously looking for a quick pay day

WTF is going on!!! When do other teams defend OM and their coaches. Is there a shift happening?

Not sure if this is the L they thought it was. I want my coach to do this and not let the inmates run the asylum.

Feel bad for the kid if he's really dealing with stuff like that but at the same time I get it from Lane's perspective as well. The woke mob will come for him, though.
You can't just ghost your coach and team like that. That's not how the world works. If you're dealing with shite then let the coaches know. They can help.

Kiffin is in the right here. Some of these kids need to grow TF up. This guy just learned a valuable lesson.

Media will make a story out of this but I have no issues with what Kiffin did here. Could he have worded it differently, sure. But having mental health issues doesn’t remove your responsibility to communicate with your head coach. You’re still accountable for that bare minimum.

$30 million in lawsuits
Maybe he should go down to around $500k
Something tells me he immediately left that meeting and called his mom and the lawyer with the news “I got him on tape”

Call me crazy, but I’m willing to bet this wasn’t Kiffin’s first frustration with Rollin.
This sounds like a case of a guy who was a pain in the arse for an extended period of time and him not responding to Kiffin’s request for a meeting was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Kiffin doesn’t strike me as the type to kick a guy off the team the first time he had an issue with them. Why would Rollins be recording the meeting on his phone if he didn’t already know going in that Kiffin was gonna be pissed?

Kiffin tells the kid you can’t just ghost me for 2 weeks
When Kiffin tells him that fact, the kid says that “is disrespectful “
Immediately Kiffin knows the working relationship was forever over
The end

It is actually worse than that. He was informed that Kiffin wanted to talk to him in person. So for over 2 weeks he denied his bosses, bosses, boss (DL Coach, DC and HC)

“Mental health” is pseudoscience and insurance propaganda

I don't know who Ethan Stone is but he needs to dial up September/October.

Obviously they're not going to tell us his diagnosis but there are a few that would be legit reasons to miss a meeting, even weeks of meetings. Kiffin would've been told what his dx was and gone from there. It very much sounds like whatever was wrong with Rollin wasn't the kind of mental illness that prevents you from attending a meeting for weeks. That said, if it is something like schizophrenia, bipolar, or even very severe depression then there could be problems and Kiffin would be in hot water but as frustrated as Kiffin sounds I just don't think that's what he was dealing with.
This. I would find it hard to believe after his HC stops and all of the times he’s gotten crap/learned life lessons that Kiffin hadn’t properly consulted with the requisite experts there. But like you said. If it’s a mental illness in a certain tier and it wasn’t dealt with properly, they’re going to end up having to settle.

Lane is right here. If the kid has a medical/mental health issue, it doesn't give him a right to ignore the coach for 2 weeks. I don't know all the details, but best I can tell he never even went to a doctor (correct me if I am wrong).
D1 athletes, especially in SEC, get every kind of perk imaginable. Personal trainers, top notch facilities, access to private doctors, trainers, rehab, surgeries. All paid for by the university. The kid has no excuses here.
