lol, no. Not when you're simply discussing whether or not a team was ranked. Is it semantics? maybe, but technically correct.

You should appreciate technicalities, Korin, you use them yourself enough.

Assuming makes an arse out of u and me.

Helen Keller, along with everyone on this board, has seen the same amount of national championships in football at Texas A&M.

Voted down, your offense has always Been the problem under Miles.

And now you've downgraded considerably.

If smart just left and bama hired Kevin Steele this offseason LSU fans would be leading the flames. The man might do great, but just accept that it wasn't a home run hire and let the flames roll off your back.

As a Gamecock fan, I loved having Kevin Steele call the other team's defense.

Didn't read all five pages but pretty much this:

A bad defense for LSU is in the teens nationally (2013). what fans consider average was this past year and it was #1 in the SEC (though not dominant) and right outside top 10 nationally. Steels best defenses at Clemson would be "terrible" down years at LSU. With les miles style of offense anything but elite leaves potential for bad season.

It finally hit me that it was just our expectations after the 2013 season. Since our 2003 title we have not been used to giving up many points at all (minus 2008). 2013 defense just seemed terrible at the time and teams were moving the ball at will. Looking back though we finished top 3/4 in the SEC and ranked in the top 20 nationally. With our conservative offense any worse than that and we are in serious trouble with out mett/Odell/Landry/hill to bail us out. That 2013 LSU D was steels ceiling at Clemson.

I hated this hire until I researched what Steele actually did at Clemson. He had 1 very good, 1 solid, and 1 bad defense. His bad defense came after his talent and experience was depleted. LSU is stacked with 4 and 5 star talent and experience.
2009 and 2010 were very good years defensively for Clemson.

ETA- I totally acknowledge it wasn't a home run hire, but its no where near as bad as Aggy and company make it out to be. And LSU will not drop below the top 15 nationally in defense this year. Bookmark it

Clemsons 2011 defense was Snyder level bad

won the ACC that year.
also in the WVU game, 3 special team's TD's were scored. 49 points given up on defense. pretty bad, but there have been plenty of SEC teams that have given that up in the last few years.
