Google "Baylor UNLV" then reconsider defending his time as HC. It's best to just deflect away from that

No, it just amazes me at how fast it happens sometimes. Like a Cajun sixth sense.

He wasn't trying at Clemson.

I posted about his time at Baylor where he won 1 conference game in 4 years but it appears to have been removed. Are you swamp kittens so insecure that you requested an admin when I posted Kevin Steele's 1-31 conference record? Really? That's adorable.

I don't really care because it was over a decade ago at a shitty program (at the time) and he was the HC not defensive coordinator. It just isn't relevant today

He's not the HC at LSU and Baylor was dreadful before, immediately after, and during Steele's tenure

Sure, I am not saying that determines the kind of job he will do at LSU, just where Aggies are coming from. That is our experience with the guy.

Honestly I don't think the Clemson time is a fair comparison either. Different talent, different league. Only his time as Nick's DC is relevant IMHO.

To be fair...BOTH sides tend to troll one another.

I honestly don't even get it.

I like playing against teams that are "challenges". I'd rather play A&M and have that suspense and trepidation all week leading up to it than to play some other team (not naming anyone) and be kinda bored just waiting for the "W"

we remember him as:

And what you seem to forget is that in the season following the 70-33 win over Clemson, Dana Holgorsen led WVU to score
69 on Marshall
70 on Baylor
48 on Texas
49 on Oklahoma
59 on Kansas

WVU was no slouch

Helen Keller could lead our defense to top 10 ranking. Who holds the DC title is irrelevant. Aggies dumb

Well Clemson hasn't won the ACC before or Since. Not withstanding the score, LSUs greatest D,maybe ever, gave up more yards to WVU than Clemson that same year. LSU just didn't hand the ball to them in the redzone 4 times.

Why did you use the next year as an example instead of the same season?

Edit: I just checked and found out why. In the 2011 season WVU didn't score more than 41 points on a Power 5 team except during the Clemson game.

You know since 1991 A&M is 5-4 against LSU?

Baylor was a bad situation for Steele. Embarassing. He may be better as DC. WVU bowl game notwithstanding...

Brick Haley also coached with Steele there as well, but it didn't stop him from being a productive coach that's gotten a few job offers at other SEC gigs (including at least one SECW DC job) since that time.

While we're at it, how was Nick Saban's record as a HC in the NFL, since what you did in a different conference more than a decade ago or at a different level of football is somehow instructive as to the type of coach someone is now.

Or Belichick's record before he got to New England? Or maybe Pete Carroll's record as a HC before he got to USC? Or his previous stops as an NFL HC before Seattle?

If you take a snapshot in time of one part of your career, it may not look so great. Heck, even one part of your day. But things change, people change, coaches grow and improve and I think its pretty apparent anytime that you're hired as a Power 5 DC and then get hired multiple times as an assistant and/or coordinator by a Nick Saban type coach that you are a quality hire capable of being a success at this level.

Just my $0.02.

Embarassing performance yeah, but WVU had a ridiculously powerful offense that year and put 533 yards on Chavis's best D ever. Granted he also surrendered 49 fewer points

Agreed. I don't think OUTCOME equals CHALLENGE.

Team A can beat Team B 10 times in a row...but, EACH game could be a real struggle and be very challenging.

I know I am in the minority ( redundant )...but, I LIKE respecting the opponent. I never got the "you suck" approach to enjoying games.

I do thoroughly enjoy those that are good at it, though

Did you know 5 of those games were during the GH Bush and Clinton years?

That 70-33 game was the last game of Holgorsen's first season and was the first of quite a few offensive explosions. Since then Holgorsen hasn't had as much success.

Yes, I know. That's awesome, don't you think? There is actually some way you can look at the 'recent' results of LSU/A&M games in a positive light. Kind of gives you hope, doesn't it?

You should pour yourself a drink, I know I am.
