Probably about as much as Miles winning percentage as LSU head coach at KF
I think *Chavis win percentage at Kyle Field is very relevant...

Just seemed like an underwhelming hire for LSU at the time.
Based on what? He took the defensive dregs at 'Bama and fashioned a top 30 defense in Saban's first year. Two superior defensive teams at Clemson with only one off year when the team lost most of their talent at one time. Not to mention he's been National recruiter of the year and an acclaimed position coach prior to being a coordinator. He flunked as a head coach at Baylor but so did a lot of folks prior to recent history. He's never been the coordinator of a group of athletes like he has now. He could flunk again and the dark side of the moon could be made of cheese. Neither is likely.

Like I said, Helen Keller could coach LSU defenses to top 10 finishes

IF the games were equal home and away we'd have a winning record for sure.
Maybe, it could be that for many of those years LSU just had a better team AND stadium.
From 1943-1986, when A&M was playing exclusively at LSU, LSU had the 17th ranked win rate nationwide at 64% while A&M languished at 79th with a 49% win rate.
It wasn't JUST that y'all played at Tiger Stadium it was also because y'all sucked. So chances are y'all would've sucked at home too. Would it have been better than it was? Probably. Would it have been a winning percent over LSU? Probably not.

Vanderbilt was 4-3 (1-3 in the SEC) and unranked when they played Texas A&M on 10/26/2013.
Sticking up for Aggy is very sweet of you though!

13 Vanderbilt was #24 in the AP and #23 in the Coaches.

yep. its all over. lsu is going to suck this year...even though we have an abundance of talent everywhere on defense. steele is coaching the 2015 lsu tiger defense...not baylor not clemson...LSU. big difference. lets line up and play frickin ball cant wait.

Not at game time.
He has a point.

You spin just like an Aggy. You must be butthurt about LSU being the top destination for Florida DBs or something.

Or not, since eos rankings > gt rankings.

while I agree wholeheartedly with you, i'm going to reserve judgement. perception isn't reality with me.
my biggest concern is that he seems to be the opposite of chavis. chavis builds very small defenses and schemes to stop spread offenses (and is weak against power teams) while steele seems to be the opposite.
but what do I know?

lol, no. Not when you're simply discussing whether or not a team was ranked. Is it semantics? maybe, but technically correct.
You should appreciate technicalities, Korin, you use them yourself enough.

You do realize it would take multiple posts, don't you?
You gotta ask yourself, "is it worth it?"

People have yet to acknowledge the fact Steele had one of the best defenses in the nation in 09 and a very solid defense in 2010. 2011 was a result of a young, depleted defense (lack of talent).

I started typing and reconsidered.
