I also enjoyed our past games with LSU, but I'm glad we have a new "rival". The only differences are that we play LSU a little earlier and replaced SC with Mizzou. My biggest regret is that SC was usually a good win for us, but now we have another border game with excellent exposure.

LSU fans are who should be upset and most here know that many aren't happy about playing on Thanksgiving Day. Besides that they'll now compete against the NFL, they also traded CBS exposure for ESPN.

If I were a LSU fan, I wouldn't be happy, either, but it's great for Arkansas.

LSU will play home games against the Aggies on Saturday nite. As you know, LSU loves Nite games on Saturdays in Tiger Stadium.

I hate playing on non-Saturdays in general. Having to play Arkansas at the end of the season was nothing more than a drudgery. The weather was generally shitty, the crowd sparse, on road years we had to play in a POS stadium in Little Rock, it was a disaster. I would have much preferred to play the piggies in September or October, when we would at least have a chance of good weather in Fayetteville and a good crowd of coeds for the sucking of Tiger d&%k, bitches. The game really felt like a forced rivalry, played at a time slot that no one liked, with the feeling that no one really wanted to be there.

I was hoping that bringing A&M into the conference would end this farce, but instead, it made it worse. Now we play the game ON Thanksgiving Day! I hate it. It basically ensures that I will never get to go to Kyle Field for a big Gulf War game. It gives me the sads. LSU's offense is putrid enough, I don't need it ruining my Turkey high.

We still play LSU, just not on Thanksgiving Friday. I think losing the rivalry game we had with Texas, when joining the SEC was a bigger deal, much the same as the A&M vs Texas game going away.

Damn, I hate Texas.

You may get the pleasure of kicking the crap out of them in a bowl this year. So that might make you feel better

Pretty much. LSU fans are almost universally happy with the new arrangement

I literally know of no one that is happy about us playing on Thanksgiving now. Would have much preferred to continue to play the hogs the Friday after..... I feel like we are getting crammed in to a stupid Aggie tradition.

"LSU will play home games against the Aggies on Saturday nite."

You do realize LSU doesn't decide the time of the game?

It was a huge mistake moving the Arkansas game. The ATM game will rarely mean anything at all.

I'll miss it. For a time it was the game on black Friday until other conferences started to see the exposure both teams got. There were a lot of great games played on that day.

It was a tradition, rivalry or not. I am set in my ways.

Well said sir, well said

It was part of Thanksgiving. At least we didn't lose the Friday game.

When the change was made, it was spun that it was lsu's decision to dump Arkansas for a&m...
Not the way I remember it. Sure, despite the border there's not a lot of rivalry/animosity between the 2 programs, but I thought there was respect. Arkansas was the better of the two additions between they and South Carolina. The Friday game was a little inconvenient in terms of tailgating, but it made the game nationally prominent. My sister lives in Ohio, and she's told me most people she knows up there would have the game on, in the middle of Big 10 country; it was "the only big game" that day. It elevated both programs in the national eye, and if either was good it was a great little boost.

I've done a little asking of friends around the country, and honestly, nobody knew A&M was an annual Thanksgiving Day game. The Aggies might like it, but it's a marketing disaster.

Hey, so far we are undefeated against LSU in non-Thanksgiving weekend SEC games. I'd say its working according to plan.

Yes Arkansas is your rival, second to Ole Miss, you play for a trophy!

Now LSU wants to claim Bama and A&M as rivals because their programs are winning as of late... stop trying to change tradition and accept what history has given you.

I probably will be one f the few to agree with you.

I have family that has season tickets, and we would always buy them from them for this gay because they didn't want to deal with going to LSU after thanksgiving. So Arkansas is the team i saw playing the most as a kid.

I will kinda miss it i suppose.

I agree Litigator, our split fan base family always enjoyed the thanksgiving match up as well. The game finally moved to Fayetteville is nice though.
