So I went to the local grocery store tonight to buy some things for Thanksgiving and it sunk in that Arkansas and LSU won't be playing each other the Friday after Thanksgiving. To me the game had been played so long that it actually became a part of the Thanksgiving celebration to share with family and friends. Just sad that a part of our history was lost and though we still play it won't be quite the same.

It'll be OK, you can watch the SF/Seahawks game on Thanksgiving night, then the Hogs on Friday.

Serious question...do hogs consider that game a rivalry game?

Pretty much. LSU fans are almost universally happy with the new arrangement.

What are you talking about? You won the lottery.

You get to play once a year in jerryworld so you can hope to get back to recruiting Texas football players.

It was a tradition, rivalry or not. I am set in my ways.

I do like the resumption of the A & M/ Arkansas series in Arlington. Great venue. It's just that the series with LSU became so much a part of the Thanksgiving ritual that it is sad that it has been lost.

That. It feels strange. For the average ranter, self included, that game on Thanksgiving weekend happened for the vast majority of our lives.

In the same vein, I miss playing Tennessee annually, too.

Look on the bright side, 95% of viewers will be more interested the NFL game on Thursday night than watching LSU lose.

It will almost be like it never happened.

The other 3% will be watching Texas.

Rivalry or not, the LSU has always been an extremely close and competitive football game and it not being around anymore will make Black friday a little more boring.
