Catcher is not too bad. Not a fan of 2 throwing behind runner unless dead right. Bait them, they'll dumb it up in time. Baseball is patience.

The first was a steal of second. He blocked picked it up clean and the runner had a LATE jump. Should've had him, but he decided to eat it.

Second was a throw down to first, where the runner slipped. I haven't gotten to watch much this year, but those two stood out as missed opportunities.

If on the first he went shin guards you always hold. Never make two mistakes.

The guy has eventually built a winner everywhere. We hope he can at Alabama too.

I can't help but laugh. I guess if you rarely beat them in football you start a thread about baseball?

Jim Wells was the best coach they had for baseball.

Wells and Shollenberger on equal footing. But Wells was probably more consistent. 15 years and always won 35+.

Wells had good teams but damn he blew a Super Regional to UNC when we hosted them. Awful base running and electing to pitch to Chad Flack.

Bad as in wet paper sack bad. I have been to several games. Errors, stupid base running, runners getting picked off at 2nd type stuff. Just name something in the basics of the game and they are making a mockery of it. Bama has had really good baseball over the years, not great, but really good. How it got to this is just sad.

1998 and 1999 South Carolina would disagree with you.

There's nobody left from the Jim Wells tree? None of his players got into coaching?

Wells was an old acquaintance of mine. Alabama is forever cursed for firing him

Gaspard's staff had Andy Phillips and Dax Norris.
