I actually like Klatt and I kinda respect his commitment to his anti-SEC shtick. But there is no way he actually believes the best SEC team since 2000 was the 4th best. Zero chance.

I have watched a lot of USFL in the spring the past couple of years and Klatt surprised me because he is pretty damn good as an analyst on the broadcast. I was actually shocked because I thought I would lose my mind watching him.

That’s the thing, he’s talented and pretty fair in the moment. And at least
And at least makes good arguments for his takes, even though we may disagree, sometimes vehemently. But he’s being intellectually dishonest here.

Well he lets his southern bias show every now and then because you can tell he doesn’t think much of the Stallions at times. All in all he does a pretty damn good job though.

That's because he's not being paid to shill absurd positions pertaining to the USFL

He is an unwatchable clown in CFB

I do not watch too much of him covering college football. I would rather watch a conference game instead of watching the Big Noon game on Fox. I could take Klatt though if I had too. The guy they have Klatt paired up with is the one that gets on my last nerve. He absolutely sucks. Everything is so overdone with him. Nails on a chalkboard sound soothing compared to that guy.

That LSU defense isn’t even top ten in LSU history.

Maybe not statistically but you can't compare what 2019 and other modern defenses are tasked with doing vs what defenses even just earlier in decade were asked to do. Tempo has taken over and defenses are having to defend more snaps per game. Plain and simple. Couple that with the fact that a high powered fast scoring offense is going to both cause your defense to be on the field more often and cause your opponent to try and keep up and you wind up giving up more yards and points than you used to when rbs were king in the conference. And that doesn't even mention rule changes like targeting that previous defenses didn't have to deal with.

So I'm not trying to say they had this unbelievable defense, I'm just saying it's not fair to compare them (or any defense) to those of the past. But even statistically that defense wasn't as bad on a national scale as some make it out to be.

In one Game. In 04/01/03 WR’s feared going over the middle because there would be headhunters ready to lay you out. Take away those with the additional targeting and adoption of spread, where are those USC/Miami teams?

Far below.

Who cares? These greatest ever lists are silly. They were all great teams.

USC would've smoked Auburn.

Auburn struggled to beat a mediocre Virginia Tech in their bowl game.

USC played Virginia Tech that year. They trailed at halftime, led by 1 score in the 4th quarter, and ultimately pulled away to win 24-13.

Not sure why this is the third time recently I've seen someone try to use 04 Auburn struggling with VT as some evidence USC would kill them when the difference in USC-VT and Auburn-VT was 8 points.

How did they do in the last 3 games when everyone was healthy vs 2 top 5 teams and another top 10 team?

I like Klatt but I can’t take any list seriously that puts a team from before 2008 above a team from after 2017

01, 04 and 05 would lose easily to 18, 19, 20, 21 or 22. Especially if we’re playing with today’s ruleset

It was hard to see in the moment but there was a definite change in the game. Bama and LSU in 2011 were two of the last great teams from the prior era. As great as those teams were, I don’t see much use in comparing them to LSU/Bama in 2019.
