In the attempt to market our University and the accomplishments of one of our junior student-athletes, I think we should have specifically left out the towns of people that follow the Universities who had a student-athlete who wished they won the award, but didn't. Which is probably every location the billboard appeared. Instead we should have just given every college athlete a Heisman Hopeful Participation Ribbon. Would have been a lot nicer of us.

they ought to support Tuscaloosa s economy and put one up in town.
After all, Tuscaloosa is where he won the damn trophy in the first place.

I am sure there are ones in Indiana and Hawaii too.

So it's nothing personal.

Hopefully Notre Dame counters with posting this up in College Station

Why?

You can blame Lamar advertising all you want, and you can rationalize it by saying it's just celebrating a great player but it's arrogant to display it in Collin Klein's hometown. Sure, it's not displaying disrespectful comments directly to Klein but it does lack tact and comes off as bush league. But hey so does kicking extra points and padding stats up against Sam Houston St. and Missouri.

I also hope they put that up there because it will look stupid when they lose to Bama.

It isn't arrogant at all.. putting the Heismans pic up near the league headquarters..

Grow up. I swear if Bama wasn't I national power I'd really hate to see how these little babies would behave.

Again, it wasn't done personally to them. It was a nation wide display.

You have to be stupid or really wearing the tin foil hat on tight to believe the world was out to get you and A&M was just waiting to spring this on poor unsuspecting Collin Klein and family.

So what if it's arrogant. The world needs a little arrogance every now and then. It makes people work harder. Hell, if Alabama beats ND, I want to see billboards everywhere!

Can't do that, ND has alums and players from all over the US so that would be "classless" and "bush league"

Rationalize all you want, It's not the end of the world. It's really not even anything that big, but it does lack class and is disrespectful. It's not the end of the world. I'm sure C. Klein is not losing sleep over it but it's still tacky. You guys will learn how to eat at the grown ups table soon enough.

Did you like the SEC Champ Game? Was JFF on the couch next to you? Face it, 2012 aTm is nothing more than the answer to a trivia question. Keep the couch warm while you and your team watch the BCS Champ. Game. The prize for 5th place in this conference is steak knives and 9 months of your fans talking about "next year".

Dude! Get a fricking clue dumbass!. It was placed all over the US. They are damn proud of their student wining the greatest individual trophy in college athletics. Get over getting beat by him...He beat us too and I would have done the same damn thing if he went to State. I am sure ANY other school would do the same thing. You gumps are pole vaulting a rat turd here. It was not meant in any way to be a slap in the face to anyone.

Who didn't beat you guys. Your in the same boat as aTm. Your team has never reached elite success so you have no concept of how to act when you get there. This is exactly why you are unable to see why it's a little tacky to run the add in the losers hometown. Your opinion is therefor invalid because you have no prior experience to base it upon.

Seriously. I think some here are just trying to agitate. If we had thought of that for Mark Ingram it would have been the smartest strategy ever. We're in the big game. Even if we were'nt it still wouldnt bother me. If your worried about "class" and "arrogance" I think the opera is somewhere downtown. Different crowd. Learn it.

Actually I think it's a little ironic that all of those saying it's not tacky and rude to put the bilboard up in Klein's hometown are so offended by someone calling it out. It's nothing personnel.

The smarter ones will see what I did there.

No it would not! This Johnny Football sideshow is going to cause problems down the road for Aggies. No disrespect to Manziel he is a great player and I don't think he has a lot of control over the euphoria.

For Bama, it's a TEAM sport. I don't see CNS agreeing to that sort of blatant promotion for any player. Saban philosophy is that wins are the result of the joint efforts from players, coaches, administrations AND fans.
